Franco Lampacrescia on SoundBetter

I can assure you that I'll give my absolute best to make your song sound great, I'm a very hard-work person, and it will get the treat it deserve. The mix isn't done until you are happy with the result :)

I've been mixing for +5 years, and learning a lot before that. I studied in EMC (Escuela de Música Contemporánea) which is an Argentinian venue of the Berklee School of Music Arts. Surrounded by great teachers, I learned a lot from great mixing and mastering engineers based in Argentina.

It's a must for me to put all my effort and love into people's projects, because it's the only way to give back the trust you put on me, so I garantee I'll put 101% of myself in your music.

Interview with Franco Lampacrescia

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: I think both are great, even working together. Nowadays, digital have become more accessible for everyone, and it's also a great choice in terms of portability and quality.

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: I may not have a lot of experience, but I can garantee that I'll give all of my effort to make your song sound great.

  5. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  6. A: A notebook, an audio interface (1 pre is really enough), a shure sm57, a guitar and maybe a piano. That's all I need.

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: Like I said on my bio, I've been mixing for almost 5 years or more. I started with my band (stilers) and now I'm trying to get more experience with other projects.

  9. Q: How would you describe your style?

  10. A: I like to not hesitate when i have to make choices, so I would say my style it's a bit agressive, maybe.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: I usually like to do most of the work inside the buses, like for example Drum Bus or Mix Bus. It really helps to glue the mix, in my opinion.

  14. A: Generally, Rock and Pop-Rock.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: Mixing.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: The general idea of my work is to get the mix where it has to be, in terms of proper leveling and EQ. Then, I can put my personal touch. I can be very creative if I have the chance to do it.

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: It depends of the song, but after I made a rough mix, with a proper balance and gain staging, I tend in almost every mix to start with drums and bass.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: By now, I mix only in digital. I have almost every plugin at my disposal.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: Basically, I grew up listening and learning from top-notch mixing engineers like Chris Lord-Alge, Michael Brauer, Andrew Scheps, etc.

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
