Interview with Noah Price

  1. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  2. A: I only do one thing. After its said that I engineer, its inferred thats all I do. Or after I say I produce, its inferred that thats all I do. I do both.

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: Dont be afraid to reach out and call/facetime to really understand who you're working with. Communication is key, especially in business like this.

  5. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  6. A: I would take: 1. Apollo Twin 2. Generator to power everything 3. KrKRocket5s 4. Sony C800G 5. Laptop

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: My strongest skill is indefinitely my ability to relate to another artists vision. At most, after a quick conversation, I am able to put myself in their shoes and grasp the idea that they are trying to convey. From excited, sad, nostalgic, or whatever the case may be, I can not only deliver the sound but I'm able to pick up on it very quick.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: I bring a refreshing sense of originality, all while dialing in the targeted theme/vibe. Wether I'm producing a track, writing a song, or mixing and mastering, Im always able to deliver a unique and professional track.

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: I would like with Benny Blanco. I know it'd be one hell of a time, and when you have that you have great music.

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: One music production tip would be, organization. If you are able to categorize the sounds you like with the genre or vibe, this makes the creative process much faster and efficient, as you know the sounds are valid and you dont have to "experiment" as much.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: I work out of HushMoney Studios in Los Angeles, where they have 5 Studios. Here they have an Apollo Twin, 8 channel Scarlett, Neuman TLM, as well as instruments (guitars, piano, saxophone). All computers are filled with highly sought after plugins and software that allows the highest professional sound to be attained.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: The work I come across most often tends to be hip/hop and rap. Whether I am producing, engineering, or co-writing more times than not its in these genres, however I am excited to branch out.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: Musicians that inspire me are XXXtentacion, Mac Miller, Pharrel Williams, and Benny Blanco.

I have just completed a week at NoName Studios, owned and ran my MixedByAli. To be surrounded and learn from great artists and engineers such as these is a huge blessing, I only hope to pay it forward.
