Juney

Music Producer & Artist

Juney on SoundBetter

Not just a producer, but an artist. I'm Juney, I specialize in producing, mixing & mastering Trap, Hip Hop & Rap music. I actively work with artists all around the world, and I have also released my own records independently.

What I offer is that I can produce, mix, master & expand your song.

As for production, I specialize in Hip Hop / Rap, and I have my own unique style. Melodies ranging from guitar, piano, synth, & electronic elements, with hard hitting drums and ear warming background ambience.

Every song & beat is carefully mixed & mastered to have a hit sound. I can also mix vocals, specializing in male hip hop vocals, ranging from clean rapping, to an autotune "Travis Scott" like sound.

When it comes to expanding a song, I can do that in many ways. Simply, I can make a beat of your liking, but, I can also do much more. For example, I could take your acapella vocal track and build a whole new beat from that, or I can build a beat just off a snippet, and work from there.

The choice is really up to whoever I'm working with, my goal is to achieve the sound that you want!

Interview with Juney

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My newest EP, "Stagnant". I produced, mixed, and mastered the tracks & wrote and recorded all the vocals myself. I made this EP over about a 4 month span, and ultimately love how it turned out.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am currently working on my next single, which is in the vocal recording stage at the moment.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I recommend Tom DuPree.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital, only because I haven't had the change to play with much Analog gear.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise to deliver what you want! That is my ultimate goal when working with clients on music, I just want you to get what you want.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love making music, this is my life and I'm proud to say it is my passion.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Customers most commonly ask how long a custom beat will take, and the answer is 1-2 days.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Some people think I am just a simple producer, when I am capable of so much more.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I usually ask for examples of what my client is looking for. Whether they tell me that though words, or by showing me something such as a song, I ultimately want to get a clear understanding of what the client wants and needs.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: I hope that you know what you're looking for and can hopefully find that with me!

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My MacBook, my iPhone (camera), my microphone, something to block the wind, & my headphones.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started off just producing beats, but slowing learned how to mix & master, and also fell in love with writing & recording my own vocals. I've been making music for about 5 years. I now make and release music, independently & with other artists.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Hard, Bouncy, Melodic, Ambient, Dreamy, Cloudy, High

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I want to work with TyFontaine. I love his unique vocal style and I feel that a collaboration between us would sound incredible.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Follow your ears!

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I usually work on Hip Hop & Rap styles of music. This genre has many niches which I specifically work in, these being Trap (Lil Baby, Drake, Travis Scott), Rage (Playboi Carti, Trippie Redd, SoFaygo), Drill (Pop Smoke, AJ Tracey, Fivio Foreign), Cloud Rap (Post Malone, Lil Tecca), & Emo Rap (Juice WRLD, Dro Kenji).

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: I feel that the drums in my production is my strongest skill.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring what you need. My music ideas match no other, and I feel my unique production style can't be duplicated. I can honestly bring everything. Beats, vocals, the mix and the master, but what I cherish most is my ideas, because that's what nobody can truly replicate.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: When making a full track, I typically start by making a beat, then start recording vocal ideas to that beat. I usually try to build a hook for the song first, and after I do that I will start building the track even more, with arrangement details, and adding / removing elements from the song. After I do this I usually will write the lyrics for the song, following the vocal ideas I previously laid down. When I'm finished writing, I will spend time recording vocals, and doing so until I am satisfied with my vocal performance. It is now time to mix & master the track, which I usually spend a couple days doing. I typically will mix the track, listen to it on different speakers such as my laptop, phone, car, etc. And do this multiple times until I am satisfied with my track. When my ears are satisfied, then the track is complete!

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I switch between a Macbook Pro & an iMac computer, depending on the vibe / what I'm currently doing. For DAW's, I use Ableton Live 10 to make beats, & Logic Pro to record, mix & master vocals. For my microphone, I own a Rode NT1 which I use to record vocals, and I also own a Focusrite Scarlett audio interface.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Kanye West, Murda Beatz, Drake, Wondagurl, Travis Scott, Wheezy, Internet Money, Nick Mira, NAV, Metro Boomin, Gunna, Don Toliver, SoFaygo, Lil Baby, TyFontaine, Juice WRLD.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I mainly produce instrumentals for my clients, but also mix & master whole songs or just vocals.
