Vocalist, Lyricist, Topliner

I'm a storyteller. I specialize in songs for the stage (I've written two musicals) and for film (I've worked on mixed media and animation), but hey, I'm flexible. I bring a lot to the table: a four-octave range, formal composition and voice training, and experience in areas from VO to producing to video editing. Let's MAKE something!

Heya! I'm Socks, my pronouns are they/them/theirs, and I'm an agender/gender non-conforming singer, stage and voice actor, lyricist-composer, and writer. I'm a coloratura soprano with a BFA Performer-Composer degree from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) and minors in Digital Arts and Creative Writing. I have experience with recording engineering, audio editing, mixing, podcasts, video editing, and other fun technical stuff, so if you hire me as a singer, lyricist, or topliner, I can throw in some of those skills as needed. I do compose music with Logic Pro X and for piano/guitar, but the vocal line is where my heart lies—I prefer to collaborate on accompaniments/tracks. I'm down for all sorts of vocal genres; I've done jazz, country/folk, soft pop, musical theater, choral, and more. And if you need skills outside of the music realm, I've got those too.
