Casper Stang on SoundBetter

Hi I'm a music producer/songwriter from Norway and I have over a decade of experience working as a producer, songwriter and engineer on many projects in Norway.

I'll produce your song, either from scratch, or take your idea and vision and turn it into a final release ready recording. I'm based in Oslo, Norway, but you can record your vocals or instruments anywhere in the world, and I'll just finish the production here.

Services include:

- Full album and single production
- Beat making
- Songwriting (music, chord progression, song arrangement)

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Casper was amazing to work with. He was precise, provided charts, and a reference with what he wanted! He allowed me to add some creative input to the song which is always fun! His programming skills are top notch! Very professional and I look forward to working with him on more projects in the future!

Interview with Casper Stang

  1. Q: How would you describe your style?

  2. A: Urban influences, mainstream and catchy melodies.

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: If you need a great female vocalist, check out Thea Leora. Her voice is amazing, and she can also sing in a "character" voice.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I'll do a damn good job!

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I started playing the piano when I was 6 years old, and fell in love with music production when I was 15/16. Have worked on a ton of projects since then.

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: I wish Biggie was still alive!

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Don't be creative and critical at the same time. Less is more, and a lot can be done in the details.

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: I would say programming.

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: Experience, a lot of passion, personal touch and a professional sound.

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: I will usually start the project by being super creative, adding a lot of creative colors to the canvas. And from there, I subtract, take away all the unnecessary parts and elements and work on the details.

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: I work in Logic Pro X, have a couple of KRK VXT8 monitors, and a great Korg M3 keyboard that I use a lot. I have several MIDI-keyboards, mics, RME audio interface, and a bunch of plugins and soft synths. I like to keep it simple.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: Full production of a song from start to finish.

  23. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  24. A: What are you trying to accomplish and are you ready to roll?

  25. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  26. A: Laptop, MIDI-keyboard, USB mic, headphones and a tambourine!

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, EDM

  29. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  30. A: I'm inspired by Pharrell Williams, Dr. Dre, Max Martin, Timbaland, Scott Storch, Stargate, Rick Rubin and Diplo to name a few.

  31. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  32. A: It doesn't really matter. I like to work all digital, but it's always cool to touch some real knobs!
