  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: I like making digital gear sound analog.

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: I've been obsessed with the drum set since Middle School, my love and passion for the instrument has only grown over the years.

  5. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  6. A: My Black Beauty snare drum, my 21" Zildjian K Custom Special Dry Ride, my Vintage '71 Ludwig bass drum, my 16" Paiste Big Beat hi hats, my Vintage 75' Ludwig floor tom

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Take the time to experiment with drum tuning and muffling, it's worth it.

  9. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  10. A: I recorded drums on over half of the songs on the new double album Everyone Stop by *repeat repeat.

  11. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  12. A: I recently finished a project called 30 days of improvising over selections from Drumless Tracks Vol. 9 by Tim Baltes (@timbofromkeno). You can find all the videos on my YouTube channel.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: I’ve been playing the drums since the 4th grade. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2010 with a degree in Drum Set Performance. I moved to Nashville in 2011 and I’ve been active in the scene ever since.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: I have a loose, organic feel. I follow the vocal with dynamics and expression. I react to the music.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: I would to work with my favorite Artists. People like Mac DeMarco, Kurt Vile, Kevin Parker, Andy Shauf, Daniel Romano, Julian Casablancas, Jack White, and more. These are people who are making my favorite new music.

  19. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  20. A: Rock and Roll, Indie Rock, Americana, Singer/Songwriter

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: Awesome drum sounds, drum tuning, dynamics and touch.

  23. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  24. A: I bring the authentic sound and feel of a real drummer who has a ton of experience. I’ve played live and recorded with a wide variety of Bands and Artists over the years, and everything I've done has shaped my playing.

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  26. A: I own a house in Nashville that has a killer unfinished basement for recording. I have seven complete vintage and modern drum sets, ten snare drums, and a wide variety of cymbals on hand. I have a growing collection of microphones and the ability to record up to 16 channels.

  27. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  28. A: My favorite music is ‘60s and ‘70s Classic Rock. I love Bands and Artists who bring those sensibilities to modern music.

  29. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  30. A: Remote drum tracks and percussion.
