Jen Levins on SoundBetter

Get great vocals and dreamy acoustic guitar. I'm a classically trained musician with 28 years of experience performing and songwriting. Let me take your songs to the next level.

Music is my passion and I would love to help you with your project!

I'm a singer-songwriter located in Seattle, WA. I offer vocals, acoustic guitar, and mixing tracks. I studied classical guitar at the Hartt School under Alan Spreistersbach and Dick Provost. For voice, I've worked with Tina Shafer (NY Songwriter's Circle) and Christina Pasqualone (American Idol). I've performed on stages from New York City to Los Angeles and released 2 EPs and a brand-new single.

Interview with Jen Levins

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I just released a new single "A Girl Worth Fighting For". I wrote the music and lyrics, played all the instruments, produced, and mixed the track.

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: Kris Bradley

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: I LOVE the sound of analog. But I do all my work in digital format because it is so easy and portable.

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I started out playing classical guitar and studying that along with acoustics in college. I just recently started on music production and mixing.

  9. Q: How would you describe your style?

  10. A: Indie folk pop

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Don't forget to create transitions and add the extra little ear candy bits that make everything pop.

  14. A: Singer-songwriter, acoustic, indie, folk, pop

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: Musicality and creativity.

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: If I'm building a track from scratch, I start with the foundation - drums and bass - and build up from there. I listen in to where I can add the bells & whistles.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: Oh gosh. There are just so many to list. Pearl Jam, Liam Finn, Angus & Julia Stone, Taylor Swift, Rick Rubin
