Excellent singer, I'm so happy, she liked my new song, and it's so incredible, her voice sounds one with the music. So Professional, timing, tones, lyrics, writing, good communication, and her voice sounds like an angel. And YES, I will work more with Mayre, she immediately understand the feeling of the songs.

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I am especially proud of working with one of the most important producers and mixing engineers in the world, Humberto Gatica. He has been an amazing inspiration and his wisdom have filled me in very many aspects. It is an honor to work with such a huge talent and wonderful human being. I also feel very proud of my experience winning the first Latin American Idol, which changed my life and my career completely in the most beautiful and possitive way.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am currently working on my third album as a recording artist (the first album in English) ready for my crossover and very excited about it.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I would start with the Soundbetter team, especially Alan Garcia who is always there for me to answer questions and letting me know all the benefits that I can enjoy from this great platform. I really appreciate how the Soundbetter team is on the top of all my jobs, invites and proposals, they have the best customer service I have ever experienced, it feels like they are working only for me. It is a really comforting feeling. About the artists I have worked with in Soundbetter, I only have great comments about them. It has been a blast since I started, I have recommended them all with 5 stars review that they really deserve.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Depends on the type of music.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I will always give 100% of the best of my experience and professionalism. My priority is express emotions but I also always combine it with good technique and the high quality standards.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: All the opportunities to connect with different artists through music. Also my job is my first love, my obsession, my addiction and my number one hobbie, it is basically part of my being, I literally can't stop doing it, I enjoy all the way.

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: Contact me once they know what they want. After that, I recommend to find existing reference that can help be more specific with what they have in mind. It could be the combination of different elements of several references. That is the best way they can get what they imagine and maybe even better.

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: I would recommend them to start defining what they want. Then find some existing references that combined with each other can express what they are imagining for their project. Then look for a provider.

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: Macbook Pro, Neumann Mic, Scarlett 2i2, 10T ExternalHard Drive full sounds, instruments and plug-ins, keyboard midi controller.

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I started singing in public events and composing since I was very young at the age of five. Then I started as a professional session singer and live backing vocalist when I was 15 years old. Then I created my own singing method and opened singing academies. Later, I started licensing teachers with my method in different countries. Then I won the first Latin American Idol and that is how I was able to tour with my music for over 6 years. After that, I decided to move to Los Angeles ready for my crossover. Soundbetter allows me to collaborate with other artists, connect with them and also keep growing as an artist.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: My style as recording artist is Pop Electronic with a Latin influence. My lyrics are always possitive and empowering, they are always about love and the different ways to love. My melodies are easy listening and my voice is strong, powerful and refreshing at the same time.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: I love working with passionate artists that believe in themselves and also respect and validate other people's talent.

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: I consider that the best way to record vocals is to sing the entire song a couple of times (recording it) and then listening, to identify the best moments and also the syllables that need work (if any, in order to work on them separately). I repeat this process a couple of times. After that, I do a rough vocal comping, so the artist can record only those parts that had an issue (generally the issue will be in every take) This process will prevent the artist to burn out or lose the vibe of the song and it will save time and money. When is the time for the final vocal comping you are sure you have the right material to combine the best takes from the artist because all the issues that can not be corrected with Melodyne where resolved with the artist during the session.

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: Pop, EDM, R&B, PopRock, Latin.

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: My wide knowledge of the voice and the vocal instrument applied to express emotions.

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: I bring to every project my over 20 years of experience with very many different genres and singing styles. Also over 15 years of experience teaching people of all ages from around the world is a good asset to bring to my projects. I am very passionate and artistic but also an incurable perfectionist, I love the result of the combination of those two characteristics reflected in my work.

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: I get in my studio with a nice cup of tea and feel the music I am working on. I listen very open and relaxed. Then I define the priorities and start working on it.

  35. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  36. A: I work with Pro-Tools, Neumann TLM 103 Mic, Melodyne.
