  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I recorded, mixed, and edited a cover song by a local artist named Vienna Dohler. I recorded the drums, piano, and her vocals then I mixed the project giving it life and character.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am working on an EP project of my own.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Matthew Boda and I interned at JTL a couple of years ago.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I've worked with both and love both but for me, I most confident in digital seeing as I have spent most of my time honing my skills in digital workspace.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: To deliver a clean, full sounding, and professional sounding mix

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: The biggest misconceptions is assuming you need a certain piece of gear or software to make a good song. What you need is an excellent understanding of the fundamentals of mixing and mastering. As well as practicing and honing those skills.

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Have a reference track(s) this will help me get a feel for the style and sound you are looking for.

  15. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  16. A: Studio monitors, interface, computer, and a dynamic microphone. Plus a good pair of headphones if I could sneak a sixth item.

  17. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  18. A: I've been studying music, mixing, composition, audio engineering, for 6 years. I first started in an apprenticeship with a local studio in KCMO from there I went on to achieve my degree in audio engineering in a hands on class in Nashville. I have also taken courses in my spare time as well as training in one on one coaching sessions. Music is my passion, I am always working to grow my skills and expand my knowledge of music. I absolutely love this career.

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: My style is full and clean. I aim to bring a song to life in the sense of making room for each track and making sure I bring out the best qualities as well.

  21. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  22. A: I would l love to work with NF. He is vey creative, and has a strong range as a vocalist from singing to intense rap. I would also love to work with Tommee Profitt, his work especially with NF is phenomenal. He is an incredible producer.

  23. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  24. A: Gain staging and compression are crucial in creating a full sound and mix. You want to make sure your tracks have enough space and headroom to shine and sit properly in the mix.

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: I primality work on Hiphop tracks as well as Pop and Rock.

  27. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  28. A: Mixing is my strongest skill, understanding the dynamics and character of the instruments.

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: Clarity in sound, I make sure it sounds clean, full, and professional.

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: I start with setting the mix ensuring each track has the room it needs. Then I focus on the dynamics and tonality of each sound/instrument to achieve the best sound possible.

  35. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  36. A: Thomas James "Tommee" Profitt has an amazing dramatic and big production Strange Music has great club music with excellent bounce Dr. Dre has that classic hiphip style that I love They all have solid sounding records and amazing productions!

  37. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  38. A: I mix and master the artists song(s), getting them to a radio ready quality. I also program drums that bounce well and hit beautifully.

  39. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  40. A: I love working with music, hearing someones idea an helping them bring it to life!

  41. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  42. A: I'll ask them which artists are their favorites, what are the references/influences in music.
