Interview with Richard Spencer

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: It was a 7 minute long medley of about 10 different pop songs which i produced and performed from scratch. The end result worked very well and i am very proud of it even though it's 10 years old.

A: Digital as i'm more familiar with it, Analogue for the sound though.

A: that it's something i can just do and not something i've spent hours working on

A: Listen to their sample music, if you feel it is really good and suits your genre then go with them

A: laptop, mic, audio input, acoustic guitar, midi keyboard

A: 15 years
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: A mix between pop and EDM, The songs are catch and have good structure but also have the nice EDM musical parts, similar to chainsmokers
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Deadmau5 due to his extensive synth knowledge and perfectionism
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Having a short and long reverb on your lead vocal will make it pop and stand out
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: EDM and POP
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Melody and song progression
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Creativity, structure and solid composition. I know what works and what doesn't
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Come up with any main melody first on the keyboard, then work around that by adding drums, bass vocals. work on fillers and FX at the end. I like to mix a little as i go so i get a good feel for the track
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Running latest logic X pro, KRK monitors, Zeinheiser headphones, midii and full Yamaha keyboard. Software and plugins are as follows: iZotope, Ozone, Nexus, Serum, Sylenth, Native Instruments.
