Pedro René (Bastian)

Cinematic Composer/Producer

Pedro René (Bastian) on SoundBetter

Cinematic composer, producer and orchestrator creating emotional, high-end music for film, trailers, TV, games and artist projects. I blend orchestral writing, modern production and real instruments to deliver music with narrative, depth and strong production value.

I’m a composer, producer, orchestrator, audio engineer and multi-instrumentalist creating cinematic, emotional and high-end music for visual media and artist projects.

My background includes music for film, television, advertising and digital media, as well as production, arrangement and post-audio work. I also collaborate with artists who want their songs to feel deeper, more distinctive and more powerful.

My approach blends orchestral writing, modern production, sound design and real instruments. I work with piano, acoustic and electric guitar, bass, handpan, synths and vocals, and I’m especially drawn to projects that need atmosphere, emotion, movement and storytelling.

I’m a strong fit for original music for film, trailers, TV and games, full instrumental production, orchestration and cinematic arrangements, indie / alternative / pop productions with emotional depth, expressive overdubs and textural layers, and selected post-audio support for visual projects.

If you need music that feels intentional, immersive and human, I’d love to help bring your project to life.

Interview with Pedro René (Bastian)

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m especially proud of is May I Help You?. I was the composer and producer of the music for the documentary, and I’m proud of it because it gave me the chance to support the story in an emotional and meaningful way through music.

  3. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  4. A: My strongest skill is shaping emotion through music. That can show up as composition, arrangement, production, orchestration, or sound design, but the core strength is knowing how to make the music support feeling and narrative.

  5. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  6. A: I bring structure, emotional depth, and musical perspective. I’m good at hearing what a song could become, then helping it get there through arrangement, production, harmony, texture, dynamics, and detail.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: My process starts with understanding the emotional goal, references, and practical needs of the project. From there I build a strong first version that captures the core mood, then refine it through focused revisions so the music becomes clearer, stronger, and more aligned with the vision.

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: My setup is centered around Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Sibelius, with a workflow built for composition, production, editing, and delivery in one space. I also work with expressive keyboards, synths, quality monitoring, and a range of tools for cinematic production and detailed arrangement work.

  11. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  12. A: The most common work I do is original composition and full music production for visual media and artist projects. That includes cinematic cues, theme-driven writing, arrangements, and helping clients turn an idea into something finished, emotional, and distinctive.

  13. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  14. A: At the moment I’m working on a series of cinematic songs in which I’m the composer, songwriter, arranger, singer, and producer. It’s a very personal body of work that brings together storytelling, emotion, and a more artist-driven side of my music.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: Cinematic, emotional, atmospheric, and detail-driven. Even when I work in more contemporary or song-based formats, I tend to approach music with a sense of narrative, movement, and texture.
