I offer:
1) mixing & mastering in professional recording studio by a team of mix engineers and producers.
2) arranging your track with any instruments, either electronic or live recorded.
3) session work as a guitarist, bassist, or drummer.
4) composing for your purposes (movies, ads, videos etc.).
5) editing, alignment, tuning.

I am the one you need if you are looking for someone who will help you work on your music, who will treat it with detailed attention, understand and emphasize its individuality, and who will squeeze the maximum out of himself and of you, in order to get the best result.

I'm hardly the one you need if you think that there are some universal quality standards in sound that do not depend on a particular track. I am also unlikely to suit you if you are not ready for communication, but just want to give the material and get the finished result, without discussing goals and feedback.

Interview with Pavlik Safonov

  1. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  2. A: Musicians and bands: Puma Blue, Yellow Dayz, Agnes Obel, Noga Erez, 21 pilots, Danger Mouse, This Town Needs Guns, Mathias Eick, Whitey, IDLES, alt-J, Portugal. The man, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, GoGo Penguin, The Beatles, Claire Laffut, Men I Trust. Music production professionals: Andrew Scheps - his approach is closest to me. Sylvia Massy - Adventure Recording is one of my core principles. Finneas O'Connell - also a cool approach to production, which is close to me in many ways. Steve Albini - he has very interesting ideas, thoughts and positions on the creative aspects of music production. And while I don't agree with his obsession with all-analogue gear, he and his studio have some truly unique content. CLA - not my style of work at all, but it is very interesting to watch and listen to. YouTube personalities: Adam Neely, Creative Sound Lab, Dan Worrall, Drumeo, White Sea Studio.

  3. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  4. A: I mainly do live music and bands, but not only, I also work with electronic music. The main styles I work in are indie, rock, alternative. But I also have experience in other styles: metal, hip hop, pop, funk, even death metal. What exactly do I do daily: - mixing and mastering. I have everything needed for this: an acoustically treated control room, high-quality monitoring, extensive experience, and most importantly, a work system and quality control that has been debugged and proven over the years in my studio, in which our entire team is involved. - production, organization of all work, from idea to mastering, assistance in recording, even remotely. Work with session musicians, if they are needed - we hire them, work with them on parts for your songs and record them; - I record: live drums, I have an awesome '62 Ludwig SuperClassic drum kit in my studio; live guitars and reamp (I run the DI signal through amps and cabinets and then pick it up with a mic), I have some cool guitar heads and amps, both modern and vintage; vocals - we have a good stock of microphones including Neumann U87, AKG C414, Sony C300, Lewitt LCT640 etc. Often I work with other instruments: live strings (up to 12 people simultaneously), wind instruments, and even such unusual ones as harpsichord, sitar, theremin and much more. - arrangement. If you have a song that you sing with guitar/piano, then I will write a full arrangement for it, where everything will be to your taste, from drums to a symphony orchestra. At the same time, we can either use our session musicians or get by with programming all the instruments in the computer. - composition. If you need music from scratch, for advertising, film or YouTube video - I will be happy to help you and write it. - editing. Aligning drums and other instruments, tuning vocals - I can and can do everything quickly and efficiently.
