Classically-trained touring keyboardist and music director has worked with Troye Sivan, Miley Cyrus, Fifth Harmony, Rita Ora, and Daya among others. I studied classical music for 12 years prior to attending USC Thornton's Popular Music Program, where I was mentored by Patrice Rushen and honed in on the pop side of my craft. In my professional career I regularly perform on tours around the world, work with top-tier music directors, and perform on TV and award shows (SNL, Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Billboard Music Awards and more). As a music director, I assemble bands, create Ableton show files, and work closely with artists to achieve their ultimate performance. I also design my artists' show intros and show transition moments in addition to their live arrangements.

Interview with Karina DePiano

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: For the 2018-19 Troye Sivan Bloom Tour, I was asked to compose a classical piano-inspired solo ahead of Troye's masterfully nostalgic and somber song "Postcard." It was the first time I was able to meld my two top genres together for a live audience, and to have performed it across the globe holds a special place in my heart.
