Interview with Kíraly Moraes

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: A song called "Lua" from my project "Yughost". I'm very proud of it because i've always been a very shy person and never was able to create music and show it to other people before this year. But now i'm working on this project and received some nice feedback. I'm very proud of myself for being able to do it.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I've been working on: - My own music - Online musical production jobs - Recording artists from my town

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Today all my gears are digital but I love analog gear. In the near future I will definetely go for some analog gears and mix it with what i already have.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: I ask for their musical references and how they wish their music sound like.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: My accoustic guitar, a good audio recorder, my marshall amp, a piano and a PC.

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: I started in 2017 on a course of music production. After it i just started producing songs with my friends, just having fun with them. At some point, I got some opportunities to work with already consolidated artist and started working with music for real after that.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: I'll always ask for the artist references for the song and i base my work on that and on my musical perception.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: On my studio we record vocals with AT 2020 microphone. My audio monitors are Yamaha HS7. My guitar amp is a Marshal MG30CFX.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: As a music producer i have a great admiration for Rick Rubin. As an artist my great inspirations to start making music have been Rage Against the Machine and Linkin Park. Metro Boomin, Bones and nothing,nowhere are my biggest influences at the moment.

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: I'm most used to work with sound recording, beatmaking and mix / master. Most of my clients are hip hop artists.
