Joe Pascoe on SoundBetter

94 MILLION+ Muso.ai confirmed streams on music I have Produced, Written, Engineered, Mixed & Mastered. My music has been featured in dozens of commercials, TV shows, movie trailers and video games. I love to work with new artists to blur the lines between genres and create songs that are exciting and unique in the worlds of Pop and Hip Hop.

I can build off your initial production, demo recordings or start a song with you from scratch! I will arrange, write and record the music to fit your ideas, and assist with writing vocals if you require. I am a highly experienced Vocal Producer and Editor, and I can work with any vocal you send me (whether a high-end studio recording or your iPhone) and make it sound radio ready.

Once you have signed off on the production I will Mix and (if required) Master your track to have it ready for release.

I got my start in the music industry as an artist when I signed a record deal with Columbia Records, and a publishing deal with Sony/ATV. As I was already writing and producing my own music, I naturally moved into doing the same for other artists. Following those deals I signed a publishing deal with Universal (UMPG). My experience as an artist taught me a lot about what they require from the people they work with.

My goal is to help you reach the highest levels of your artistry. I will take your lead on the sound we create and work closely with you to create music that represents YOU!

As a Mixing Engineer I will make your production sound as good as it possibly can. I work in a wide variety of genres. The right mix will make all the difference!

Services I provide:
- Production
- Mixing
- Mastering
- Vocal Tuning, Comping & Editing

Fastest turnaround time I’ve ever experienced. Understood my vision throughout the whole EP we did together. Best part is he isn’t afraid to explore concepts and ideas.

    Highly recommend!

Interview with Joe Pascoe

  1. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  2. A: I know Tyler the Creator produces most of his music himself but that would be a dream to work with him. Frank Ocean is also high on the list!

  3. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  4. A: There are so many! Pharrell, Tame Impala, Frank Ocean, Timbaland, Tyler the Creator, Mike Dean are some of the modern producers and artists that inspire me daily. I also love classic artists like Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles & Led Zeppelin, to name a few. I could talk about this for days to be honest!

  5. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  6. A: I just completed an EP with an artist I'm helping to develop. We had a very strong 'shared vision' for the project, which allowed me to experiment a lot with new sounds and creative directions for them. It's probably my favourite project I've worked on, and I can't wait for it to come out. I Engineered, Produced, Mixed and Mastered it.

  7. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  8. A: I have an upcoming EP with a friend of mine that focuses on huge, epic, mostly instrumental tracks blending trap, electronic and cinematic/soundtrack type elements. We've created the whole thing collaborating over Facetime during the pandemic, and it's been a lot of fun seeing how far we can take it. I think it's gonna blow some minds once it drops.

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: Digital - it's just easier and faster. I work mostly in-the-box. When I am working with analog gear it's usually instruments, I love the sound of analog synthesizers.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I get to do what I love every day - making music!

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: My first question is usually "So what have you been listening to lately?" That really helps me to start a conversation about what direction they want to take with their own music.

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: Always be open to new ideas. Give everything a chance! If it doesn't work, nothing is lost.

  17. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  18. A: Mostly Pop and Hip Hop, although I blend a lot of electronic and cinematic sounds into the music I make.

  19. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  20. A: Communication and a strong work ethic. I want to fully understand your artistry, and create something you are proud of!

  21. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  22. A: A thirst for new ideas. I am very open minded about blending genre and creating a song with great feel and vibe. Music is emotion - I won't stop working on a track until it just 'feels right'.

  23. Q: What's your typical work process?

  24. A: Once you come to me with your initial idea I will talk to you and figure out what direction you would like to take it. Then I typically lay down my initial ideas - arrangement, production etc and get your feedback. Once we have a general direction you like I'll hone in and finalise the production. If any vocal comping, editing or tuning is required I do that at this stage too. Once I'm happy with the production I will send to you for notes etc, and when you're happy I'll mix the record!

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: Most clients will come to me with a demo idea for a song. Usually some type of vocal and very basic production (keys/guitar/synth etc). I then take what they give me and turn it into a fully produced, mixed and mastered song.
