Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: Not yet, but I hope that changes soon.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: I would say both. I believe that dismissing any resource means not taking full advantage of the wonderful creative moment we are living in.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: To move them deeply with my music.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: What I like the most is to be able to reach and touch people I don’t even know.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: They often wonder about my creative process and I always answer that it changes every time, it doesn’t always happen in the same way.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: Since the melodies and harmonies are easily understandable, it is very common to think that creating them must be easy and straight forward.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: I ask them about the music they need, the purpose of it, their musical preferences, etc. to find out if there is some common ground where we can meet.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Firstly, it's important that they have a clear vision of what they desire. Secondly, collaboration and a willingness to adjust the composition according to the client's preferences are fundamental. Thirdly, open and consistent communication throughout the process is essential. I would also encourage them to listen to my previous work to ensure it aligns with their needs. And finally, I guarantee professionalism and commitment in the creation of a unique and memorable composition.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: A MIDI piano, a computer and a router that allowed me to be connected to the world. Nothing else.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I began composing at the age of fourteen. Since then, I haven’t stopped doing it as well as my work as a teacher, finding the balance to do both.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: My music sneaks quietly into one’s heart, unintentionally but willingly.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: Michael Nyman, without a doubt. His universe fascinates me, his Renaissance concept of art is unique in these times. Admirable.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Let it go and enjoy the music, open your senses and travel to the deepest part of yourself.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Lately, I’ve been writing a lot of piano music.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: Creating and performing melodies and harmonies with an emotional depth.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: My music is my truth. That’s why I shy away from musical artifice and complications, and I strive for maximum transparency, even at the risk of sounding overly simple at times. I’ve always believed that less is more, which is why I have a special admiration for minimalist composers.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: When I feel inspiration running through my veins, I am overwhelmed by the need to rush to the piano, leave that energy imprinted on the piano keys and capture that vibrant moment. It’s similar to when a photographer captures a magical second of beauty or when a mother gives birth to her child.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I record at home with a MIDI piano, and the sound is later processed by my partner at “Bagatelas Music”, my friend José Antonio Delgado.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: Among my favourite musicians are Arvo Pärt, Michael Nyman and Max Richter, but there are others with very diverse backgrounds. I love everything, from traditional sounds to the most avant-garde, with a special interest in minimalist music, jazz and film music.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: My most common type of work are pieces for solo piano with enveloping melodies and harmonies that encourage relaxation.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: I am very proud of my recent compositions that I share on Spotify because they are the best reflection of my music. I am both the composer and performer of them.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I am currently working on my piano compositions that I release on Spotify, Amazon Music, etc. as well as a symphony called “Symphony nº 1 Opus Lily”.
