Interview with Janezelle

  1. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  2. A: Always go for someone that is passionate about what they do, that way you know this person is bringing their A game to every song and are not just interested in the money.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: I love every song I write for my clients. Each song comes with its own style and uniqueness, the one that stood out for me the most was a particular song I wrote and recorded for one of my client. It’s an amapiano song and I had to learn some Zulu language to write it because my client wanted me to mix Zulu and English in the song. The research I did to write this song led me to learn a lot about the Zulu people. I listen and vibe to the song almost everyday, privately and I’m so proud of the hard-work that went into making it.

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: Nothing at the moment.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: We’re in a digital world, I will choose Digital

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I will create an authentic and creative track for you that will stand out in the most beautiful and unique way.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: What are you looking to achieve with your track?

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: As a child, I’ve showed a natural interest and love for music. I began singing in school and community choirs, participating in talent shows and local performances. My love for music led me to pursue a formal education in music. After completing high school, I enrolled in a music school to study vocal performance and music production. After school, I joined a live band group called Jojo band, we toured different cities in Nigeria, performing. After a few years singing with Jojo band. I went solo and released my debut EP “The drift”.

  18. A: Stay authentic and true in your production process.

  19. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  20. A: None yet.

  21. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring the authenticity that makes the track stand out and the magic that makes the music come alive

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: When I get a job from a client, I first try to understand the feel they’re going for with the song and also the message. When I’ve clarified what they want, I listen to the instrumental they provided and I create a song that mirrors what my client is looking for, making sure the quality is not less than my usual standard. After that, I record the song, then I send over a rough mix of it to my client to listen and tell me if it’s okay for them or if they would want something different. I let my clients edit the song which ever way they like. When we have finally agreed on the sound, lyrics and delivery, I send the stem vocals to them.
