Anthony "Rocky" Gallo on SoundBetter

Cigarettes After Sex, Tycho, Tokyo Police Club, John Legend, Andrew Bird and hundreds more. Billions of streams and growing. Platinum and Gold records. Have worked on every genre many times over. 20+ years experience with large Vintage Neve console and endless toys to make something unique sounding for your project.

Endless list of clients but more notable as of late is the success of Cigarettes After Sex and creating that particular sound with the band. I work out of my studio in Brooklyn and often am using the Neve console and fx units I've got here like my vintage EMT plate reverb to make unique mixes rather than the same old plugins everyone else uses. Currently in the middle of the next Cigs record as well as other but trying this platform to see if I can connect with more people out of the NY area. Thank you

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Unless you've been living under a rock you've heard Anthony's work. The bands, the sounds that everyone is buzzing about. The fact that this is no longer exclusive to people with major label contracts is astounding.

Literally the best there is. I've worked on three records with Rocky, and that's because he is fast, creative, very knowledgeable, super collaborative and extremely fun to be around. He's also fair and doesn't take advantage of artists.

I’m *so* glad I decided to work with Rocky. He’s got an exceptional ear and knows how to create a great vibe for a variety of genres. His console, candor, and expertise had jaws dropping at my last session. Best of all, he’s fun, relaxed, and easy to work with. His collaborative approach means that no ideas are off the table. In addition, he offers smart, nuanced suggestions that make a huge difference in the outcome of each track. I’m thrilled with how my music sounds, thanks to him! I feel confident in recommending Rocky to anyone seeking to take their music to the next level.

Rocky is the best. He's incredibly easy and fun to work with and you can feel totally confident that he is giving you 100% of his skill and attention no matter what kind of project. He also brings plenty of insight and creativity what you're working on and the ideas he comes up with can be the big difference in the something coming together. I've been working with him for over 10 years and I'm grateful to know him.

To meet Rocky, you’d have no idea the depth and breadth of his resume (and by extension, expertise). Personable, down-to-earth, good-natured, good-humored, soft-spoken, maybe even a little shy. The first project I worked with him on was for an Aaliyah-adjacent artist who he’d been recommended to by John Legend—especially because of his vocal production prowess. I’ve since worked on a number of projects with him (as leader/producer and as session musician) with results of a consistently high standard. Not only does he make it look (and feel) easy, I’d swear sometimes he’s psychic. Top-tier cat.

Rocky is attentive, detailed and expedient. HIs mixes are always huge improvements on the producer mix, adding depth and dimension. He finds what's special in a production and brings it to light.
