My name is Sarah and I moved to New York to obtain a Masters Degree from NYU in Music and Technology. There, I studied film scoring, sound design for movies and video games, recording, mastering, immersive sound, and production. Now I am in Fort Wayne where I've worked with Sweetwater Sound selling audio equipment to high end clients, writing articles, and producing videos about immersive sound. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What kind of sound are you going for? It also helps to have an audio sample of what they find acceptable so I can see what their vision is
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: It's difficult to be the one to call your own work 'finished.' Leave it to a second pair of ears and finally get it on the market.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a 500 series chassis hooked up to a Dangerous Music Liaison so I can quickly A/B my effects and hear what is helping the music. I then send the tracks through a MKII Nicerizer summing mixer. All of the AD/DA conversion is done by a Lynx Aurora TB3 converter.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Fermin Suero is a friend and inspiration of mine. His vocal tuning is incredible and his ear is relied about by countless Pop and hiphop artists. Emily Lazar also gave me some great advice to become a female mastering engineer.
