Joël Dollié is a multi genre mixing and mastering engineer who specializes in cinematic, orchestral and classical music. He works with Trailer/Production music publishers as well as orchestras. He has mixed material for Riot Games, Gryffin, Ubisoft, and many more.
I have worked with many cinematic/trailer and production music artists, as well as pop, rap, rock, metal, country and world music artists.
I also have experience mixing live orchestras, soundtracks for movies and even video games.
Orchestral music mixing definitely is my speciality.
Depth, width and contrast are words that come to mind when it comes to my sound. Being mainly an orchestral mixer, I put a lot of care in the EQ and spectral balance of every instrument to achieve the perfect equilibrium across the whole spectrum.

Joel was very passionate about what he is doing. He provided a few rounds of tips and suggestions to enhance my mix, before mastering my track, something not everyone likes to do. thank you so much for the great results.

Joël mastered a 6 min. orchestral piece of mine. His job was perfect, and he clearly has professional experience in classical orchestral and symphonic music and not only cinematic soundtracks. He also delivered the master complete in less than 4 days. I would gladly collaborate with him again.

Joël is an extremely helpful and talented mixing engineer. His pricing is transparent and easy-to-understand, one single price with no extra costs after agreement.
It was my very first song, so I really wasn't prepared on what he will need to do this job. He was always ready to inform me and share what needs to be done to achieve results.
During the process he was helpful all along, gave professional advise for both orchestration and sound design. He was responsive and communicative.
Interview with Joël Dollié
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That they will be satisfied with the result. I haven't had a single unhappy client since I started mixing and mastering professionally. That's something I'm really proud of.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The biggest most important tip, practice, you'll naturally start hearing more details and things (especially dynamics/compression) you didn't realize you could hear, and that's how you'll get better at mixing.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my strongest skill is that I can understand the composer's or producer's intent and emphasize the emotions they were trying to convey with mixing.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Alan Meyerson, Shawn Murphy, Serban Ghenea
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing and mastering. Most of the time I get sounds from high quality kontakt libraries as the majority of my clients work in trailer and production music.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am very proud of my work on Gavin Fraser's versions of Mozart Symphonies 40 and 41 as i think they are the most beautiful and most pristine sounding versions out there. I was the mixing and mastering engineer.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Trailer/Scores/Production music.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Oomph.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Every project is different. I don't have a set starting point. I tend to start the mix with what i like the most about the track.
