Hi My name is Karien. I am an engineer based in South Africa, but am pushing to do the next big thing. I don't let where I am from hold me back from doing things on an international level of professionalism. I have access to world class gear to work on in Cape Town. As a producer, engineer, and musician, I've been involved in countless recording sessions that range from new independent artists recording singles, to globally-touring artists (including Alice in Chains, Halestorm, Mercy Me) cutting big records. I have composed for several short films, documentary-style pieces, commercials, dance, and theatre. I'm a professional singer located in México City, I was trained as an opera singer and as a musical theatre performer. I can do almost any record you like. I can sing as a tenor and also as a countertenor. I'm also an a capella artist and songwriter.
I've been recording, mixing and mastering, for indies and many Majors since 1987 in various genres of music. I've been a Virgin Records recording artist, where I wrote and produced my debut album along with my twin brother. Since then I've recorded and mixed (at least the roughs, many of which made it to commercial release) all of my records.
