He is the best trap producer that I’ve ever met, he is a genius and really make dope beats. work with him is also a masterclass of how to be professional, creative but given the right space to the artist to create and think.

It hurts me not to have met him before, he produced my last album. He is extremely good at recording acoustic guitars. I was amazed at the string arrangements he made for my songs. I am currently working on another project in which he is collaborating in this way.

I found it incredible to work with him, it is clear that in addition to being a great musician and producer, he is a music geek. he recorded absolutely all the guitars in the last 4 albums that I produced, 2 were blues genre, one pop and the other R&B, in each of them his work was exceptional.

Interview with Octavio T. Rombolá

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Both, they're just tools. Analog and digital each have their own sonic characteristics, working methods, and opportunities to contribute to the creative process. Use each when you can and don't let them distract you from the final production!

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I will always go the extra mile to make sure the song is JUST PERFECT.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: I often find clients have a strong idea of what inspired their art but don't know how it ought to be fully realized. I find it's helpful to showcase similar productions that I think would fit their song, as well as discuss elements of the arrangement I think will be integral to the song.

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: My amazing Macbook pro, Acoustic Guitar, Apollo (with the entire Plugin bundle of course), Midi Keyboard, and Adams Monitors. Between the real instruments and the computer, I'd have access to nearly all sounds I'd need to write and produce.

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: if something sound good is good. Never limit yourself.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: R&B, Pop , Hip hop, Rock and Folk Songwriter style.

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: My strongest skill is definitely detail! It normally takes me more than 1 hour to complete a song, because I'm not just a beat maker, I'm a creator. All my clients after working with me can see the difference between beat makers and music producers. Attention to detail is what separates us in addition to knowing how to recognize the appropriate musical structures to create a great song. I always try to see the good things in each person, each artist is unique and I am very clear that my role as a producer is to add layers of complexity. besides that I am a very creative, communicative and patient type. I work on a project until my clients are 100% satisfied.

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: quality, layers of complexity to the artist's ideas,

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: It always begins with communicating with the artists to fully understand their vision of the style, sound and aesthetic for the production,Allways is good a reference of any song. Then I start working on a quick demo to discuss the different elements, so that I can produce a full arrangement of the song. After that it's fine tuning until the project is completed.I love to have meetings to close deitails via webcam and share the screen.

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: I have a hybrid setup of Analog and ITB processing for Mixing and production. I also have a bunch of analog synths, amps and guitars of any style (I'm a super geek with those things haha)

  21. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  22. A: Stevie wonder, Prince , joni mitchell, Jimi Hendrix, Miles davis, Jaco Pastorius, Frank Zappa, Beethoven, Igor stravinsky, Max Martin, Quincy Jones, Frank Ocean, Thom yorke, Pharell, Calvin Harris, Mike dean,Timbaland, etc.

  23. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  24. A: It's an exciting job because every project is different and there are always new creative challenges. I'm constantly learning from every new project and it goes without saying that it's great to be your own boss with all the freedom it brings.
