Hi! 😊 If you are looking for ‘sweet vocals’ or 'sultry vocals' you have hit the right profile! I am a mezzo soprano and my lower range isn't too low but I am told it is sultry. I can sometimes have a slight edge to my voice but often sound sweet/ angelic / ethereal/ bell-like /dreamy . I am set up to record great vocals in my home studio.
Basic demo vocal comes lightly tuned and either 'dry' or with effects.
I can do vocal production, editing, tuning, comping and add any special effects if desired on the vocals but be sure to let me know about that ahead of time.
Work tape and Demo Vocals are NOT permitted to be released. They are permitted to be pitched to publishers, artists, A&R reps etc. If you had something else in mind, (like vocals for sync purposes or release) contact me first before funding. :)
Harmonies cost less if I am duplicating your scratch vocal than if I need to invent the part.
I am a singer / songwriter / topliner and I can also master your work tape or demo to make it sound pro, but that would be an added cost - contact me for more information. Note: I am NOT a mastering engineer, so I do not take on any mastering jobs for final release.
I have worked in radio as a DJ/Announcer and am also available to do voice overs and ads.
I own a top notch AKG condenser mic & the Slate Digital Virtual Mic System https://youtu.be/tiprqGn65nI
I also can create beats/tracks. Contact me for work samples.
Tell me about your project and how I can help, through the 'Contact' button above.

Interview with Bonnie R
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am always proud of my work...and I like to constantly better myself all the time...but for my most recent project that I am proud of - I came up with the idea and title, wrote the lyrics and the melody, made a work tape and sang it (the instrumentation is my weak point) and then I hired a great producer to play all the instruments far better than I ever could. She really made my vision for my song come to life. I am in awe of great producers and musicians and I love working with them! I am a songwriter / top liner.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you sound like "X" ... that will depend on who they're asking me about, but I mostly sound like me lol :)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That only people who don't want to release music themselves sing demo vocals :)
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Pop with alternative leanings - but I sound really good in lots of different styles... my style is always evolving as well. Listen to my demo reel to hear more about what I sound like. Please note: I don't sound country at all...but I am not against singing country work tapes / demos if you don't want a country sounding vocal :)
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am always writing songs, and am getting ready to release some more of them.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will always give them the best vocal I can
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, because it's a magical combination :)
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Use Busses, they aren't scary and they make life so much easier when recording :)
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are you looking for? Do you have a scratch vocal? Do you have other song references? What is most important to you about the vocal for this song?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Know the sound you are looking for for your song...and then listen to the demo reel to see if it is a match.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Mac, Mic, windscreen, AKAI MPK mini, interface
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been laser focused on my music for about 8 years now... singing and songwriting.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Taylor Swift because she writes in so many genres (like I do) and I have loved all her songs for one reason or another.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly various flavours of pop, alternative, singer-songwriter, some alt and pop rock. I was a featured artist on some melodic metal for a friend's project (but I don't do much of that!).
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'm as much a techie as I am an artsy...my strongest skill is that I can take anything and learn it.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I want people to feel what I am singing, so I make sure to connect emotionally.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen to the song and/or inspiration songs a lot, read the notes/instructions from the client...and fill myself up with the emotion of the song. I make the 'movie' of the song in my mind...I make it be my story while I am singing it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a dedicated music room in my house, with a sound treated vocal booth. I have been able to record pro sounding vocals for my own releases and for client needs at home, which has been a life saver during the pandemic.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Amazing guitarists, pianists, and track producers inspire me... I need to work on those skills more so I really appreciate them!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Vocals, singing
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I have worked with some great SoundBetter pros, and they can be seen in my ratings on my profile.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love singing, I like the software production part of it too - both are skills that I can keep improving on.
