I'm a Celtic/Folk fiddle & mandolin session musician from Scotland based in celtic-folk-acoustic genre. I've been described as "one of the most exciting and innovative fiddle players of the times." I've performed on over 70 albums for some of the country's top celtic/acoustic artists and can supply you with tracks tailored to suit your project.
I'm more than happy to explore any musical genre that you require fiddle or mandolin tracks on and I'm a good reader but I also love to improvise.
I'm a member of folk band Session A9 who were the Scots Trad Awards Folk Band of the Year in 2012 and we've toured extensively throughout the UK and in Europe. I've recorded on all the Session A9 studio and live albums.
I love to accompany singers and you can hear an example of my fiddle and mandolin work on the tracks "Burifa Hill" and "Song of John O'Groats" which I recorded with singer Phil Anderson.
I've been a member of numerous house bands for projects at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow and many countless radio & tv projects over the years.
I've recorded two solo albums for Greentrax Recordings, the latest being "Wick to Wickham". You can hear examples of two of the tracks, "Shop St" and "Osmosis"on this page.
My studio setup is based around Pro Tools and UAD Apollo system and with some nice ribbon and valve mics which I think are ideal for my instruments.
I'm a composer of modern celtic music, some of which you can find on the "Wick to Wickham" album and my music has been recorded by many folk artists including Session A9, Rodney Miller, Ingrid Henderson.
I'm very happy to help you find the ideal part that suits your track so please contact me to discuss your requirements.
