Kerry Harris on SoundBetter

Outside of his family, Kerry derives inspiration from Jon B. (an American record producer, singer and songwriter), as well as a few of the most iconic musicians of all time. These include Michael Jackson, Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder; each of whom has left an indelible mark on music as a form of art with their legendary musical contributions.

With an abundance of motivation behind him, Kerry has been creating his own music as a singer, and he emulates the styles of the musicians who inspire him in the process. He has been playing the keyboard/piano for 10 years and counting, and he has been recording and writing his own music for just as long. This talent is what propelled him to be signed to Black Onyx Entertainment; a record label formerly based in Philadelphia.
In 2017, Kerry began to approach music with a greater sense of focus. He started performing in open mic sessions and disseminating his music on websites such as ReverbNation; a platform which facilitates the growth of upcoming artists like himself. His music has received critical acclaim on the most popular social media platforms, and he is currently rated #5 in the R&B/Soul Category on ReverbNation. In fact, Kerry’s determination to succeed as a singer runs with such depth, that in 2018, he dropped out of the Wake Technical Community College to pursue music full – time.
In 2018, Kerry’s first extended play (EP) titled, “Laughing” was released . It represents a stepping stone for this Willow Spring, North Carolina native, who will continue to hone his craft, release more music with time, and do his entire family proud by recognizing their footsteps… but making his own.

A pleasure working with Kerry!! Great songwriter, and allowed me to be creative with the direction of where he wanted to go musically. I asked questions on where he wanted to the track to go musically, and as far as format is concerned, and he said, be free and do what feels good, and you can't ask for more than that in a songwriter. Can't wait to work on the next track with him.
