Delaney Hafener

Vocalist/Vocal arranger

Delaney Hafener on SoundBetter

I’ve been creating interesting and complex vocal harmony arrangements since I was 12, honing my craft and studying music theory in order to take songs to the next level. I can create arrangements and/or record myself in my home studio and send back stems. I'm also a fan of real-life collaboration and I am happy to travel.

I grew up listening to bands like The Beach Boys and The Byrds, falling in love with vocal harmony and part-writing. I learned how to recreate the sounds that inspired me by teaching the parts that were in my head to my mom and sister and later to bandmates. My first time in a recording studio at 14 opened a new door for me, as I discovered a passion for recording and the ability to stack vocals in ways that were totally new to me. Since then, I've continued to learn and perfect the process, taking cues from modern bands such as The Staves, Lucius, Fleet Foxes, Darlingside, and First Aid Kit.

I attended SUNY Purchase from 2014 to 2018, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor's of Music in Studio Production and a BA in Arts Management. I was honored as the outstanding student in Studio Production for two consecutive years. I've toured, written, and recorded extensively with my band Pandafan, focusing on live three-part harmony as we played throughout NYC and the Northeast. I'm now in the midst of launching my new project The Belle Curves, and I've also toured and recorded bass guitar and backing harmonies with Leland Sundries and Finn & His Rustkickers.

With the ability to record in my home studio, I can easily integrate new ideas and experiment to find the approach works best for a particular song or sound.
