I’m a producer/composer/musician with over 15 years of experience in the music field. Over time I've learned that sometimes we just can't go back to the recording or mixing stage. That's where we come in: we will dive deep into a high level of detail in order to improve your sound. We can work on:
• Vocal Repair: we can clean up and remove unwanted noises or frequencies off of your vocals (even from the master). We can also deconstruct/reconstruct a muddy vocal to get a cleaner, tighter sound before the mixing stage.
• Vocal Editing: we can make chops, reduce or remove breaths, change the formant, remove the background noise, or alter the pitch of the vocals.
• Vocal Comping: combining different vocal takes into one “supertake” that has the best parts of each one.
• Vocal Time-Alignment / Quantizing: correcting timing issues according to tempo by shortening or lengthening syllables and/or words.
• Vocal Tuning: manual tuning you’re vocal using the best tools in the market.
• Podcast Mixing and Mastering: getting your podcast ready for uploading.

Interview with Javi
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Music is one of those things that can rarely become dull or monotonous, since there are so many things to be doing all the time. From singing and playing a singer/songwriter song, to composing a piano instrumental, to working with a rock band or a hip-hop artist. Recording, editing, producing, arranging. Rinse and repeat.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I believe a combination of both worlds is the best way to go. However, it depends a lot if you're producing, mixing or mastering, as well as if you're constantly moving / touring / traveling. That makes it almost impossible to carry analog gear around.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: As a perfectionist (both a blessing and a curse), I will go deep into an OCD-level of detail in order to get results.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Whenever possible, re-record. But if you're not able to, or you're not willing to re-hire a singer or pay for more studio time, we're here to help. I can guarantee we will improve your track.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm currently working on an EDM-production project for which I've recorded, edited and produced the vocals.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Sam Wheat. He's an amazing engineer, and one of the few people out there that really earns every penny.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That you need really expensive equipment to get high quality results.

A: What are you looking to improve on your music or your audio file?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Apollo Interface, a desktop PC, Beyerdynamic 880 Headphones, a Neumann U87 and a couple of Barefoot MM27 monitors.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started playing the guitar a little over 20 years ago, and started composing singer/songwriter songs a little after. I've been in a rock band, been into classical music, circled back into singing/composing acoustic songs, and lately I've been producing Pop and EDM for some years now.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I can think of so many people, but off the top of my head I'd say Ryan Tedder would be one of my first options. The guy is a genius.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Parallel compression is your friend.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly Acoustic, Pop and EDM, but I'm always open to new challenges and needs.
