Interview with Oxahjin Productions

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My first project of my solo work probably, because it introduced me to the awesome world of mixing. I wrote, composed, sang, played guitar & bass, tracked drums, made backing music, and sold 1000's of copies, having music videos made and radio play.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: A heavy rock band called SMFS

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Both, because it's the 21st century.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: Radio Quality that still sounds like you!

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: Working with goal orientated artists/bands

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: THEM: Will you do it for exposure? ME: No

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: That mixing should be cheap or free and that 'exposure' is better than getting paid for hard work.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: What problems are you facing?

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: FOR RECORDING: Be prepared with your material. FOR MIXING: Ensure your final recordings are something you are happy with before sending. FOR MASTERING: Ensure your mix is high quality, 24-bit audio.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: Charged Power Generator, Mic, XLR, 1,000,000 W Powered Speaker, and a Powered mix board so I can shout for help? Or a 5 guitars for their wood to burn and strings for fishing line.

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: I was a graphic and web designer for years until I dipped my toe into music production for my own music, The Elujin Project. I was hooked and haven't stopped.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: Raw Dog

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: Corey Taylor, due to his vocal range and ability.

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: Rock

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: Patience

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: Mono
