I am a French song writer, writing in French or English, well aware of the differences in conventions between French and English or American songs, especially when it comes to lyrics meaning, rhymes, etc.

- when writing in English : Bruce Sprinsgteen, Bob Dylan, Coldplay, the Beatles, Mark Knopfler, ...
I consider it of the utmost importance that the performer of a song completely makes the song his own and lives it as if he or she had written it. This is why, before and during the writing phase, I interview the singer to understand his wishes, objectives, preferences, feelings, difficulties encountered with other lyrics, etc.
I always work the lyrics with a musical ear, singing it, being a musician myself, so that the lyrics harmonize with the sounds and atmosphere of the song.
I can also work on projects to adapt English or American songs into French versions, or vice versa.
