I really enjoy the process of helping songwriters and musicians explore and capture their otherwise indescribable stories into sound recordings. My favorite result to reach is for a musician to feel the most high quality, true representation of themselves and a listener to have an unforgettable connection to it.
I started off as a teenager with an analog four track, listening to my favorite records and trying to deconstruct and then recreate what instruments and sounds created my favorite songs. I learned the process of production and mixing by years of emulation that led to my own experimenting and methods. Then I studied engineering and sound editing processes at the Dallas Sound Lab, interned at Reel Time Audio with a Grammy award winning producer who consistently got bold, big sounds and worked for the University of North Texas Music School where the focus was capturing the purest version of a live performance.
Fifteen years making a living recording other acts and my own projects while splitting time as a touring musician have formed my experience and love for helping artists create and construct their own dream version of the songs in their head.
