I am a former rapper and present R&B artist with almost 20 years of songwriting and recording/ mixing experience. I am offering songwriting services (I specialize in R&B and Hip-Hop/ Rap but I can also do pop if needed) and song mixing services. I DO NOT MAKE BEATS. YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE YOUR OWN or I can get you one for an additional fee. I can also collaborate with artists if needed. For song-writing I can even provide you with a recorded demo of the song. I am an independent artist so I understand how important it is to have these quality services at an affordable rate and I will work with you as best I can. The audio samples on this page were all written, performed (sung), and mixed entirely by me in my home studio. They were mastered by a professional and not me as I do not do mastering.

Interview with Trav Torch

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record using a Nuemann TLM 49 microphone going into a BAE 1073 DMP (Neve Clone) preamp, which then goes through my Klark Teknik KT-2A Compressor into an Audient ID14 interfact. I use Presonus Studio One software and have a ton of plugins. I monitor my mixes using Focal Monitors and AKG Quincy Jones edition headphones.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Songwriting, mixing, and background vocals.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My sophomore album, Bachelor Life 2.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I don't like to put myself in a box but generally speaking, I like to channel the vibe of classic 90's R&B and blend it with the sound of today. I'm extremely versatile. On my Bachelor Life album, I have songs like "Drake Sh!t," "Love You Down," and "10 to 10," which have an old school vibe and other songs such as "Red Bull and Hennessy" and "Sex Tape" which have a more contemporary 'rap-sing' type of vibe. I also consider myself to be very lyrical, which I attribute to me starting out as a rapper.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Songwriting, definitely.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: The perspective of an artist and skilled engineering.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I was a hardcore 2pac fan when I first got into rap music in the 90's. He influenced me a ton in a lot of my rap songs. But the first artist I was ever a fan of was Michael Jackson - he was basically the only artist I listened to as a child. I've also been a big fan of artists like Ginuwine, R. Kelly (musically only lol), Joe, Avant, Trey Songz, Chris Brown, and some of the classic R&B groups like 112, Dru Hill, Silk, and Jagged Edge.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I like to blend the two to get a warm, clear mix.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My debut commercially released album, Bachelor Life. I wrote the entire album and mixed the majority of it in my home studio.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise that I will provide each service as if it was my own song. I take great pride in my work.
