Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Chris Brown Indigo. I wrote number 24 on the album. It’s my very first placement so it’s very special to me. I always knew I would do it just not sure when.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Lizzo & Rihanna demos.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I’m no producer so I have no preference.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise I super catchy hit EVERY SINGLE TIME!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Writing a song and hearing another artist sing it. Pure joy
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How do you get your songs to these artist? There’s plenty of ways to get your songs shopped and submitted for other artists. I live in LA so things are a bit more easier as far as getting your music heard.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it’s way and it happens overnight. It doesn’t. For some maybe, but for the rest of us we have to pray and be consistent. It’s not about talent these days really which is sad but I’m very talented and super blessed to be here.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What’s the aim for the record, what’s the song for, who’s the song for, is it a demo, etc.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: To not waste time looking anywhere else! Lol. This is where you need to be. I’m literally a one stop shop.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Keyboard, MacBook full of beats, headphones, charger & my phone.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been doing music all my life. I recorded my first record at 10. I’ve only been writing music professionally in the industry for two, going on three years. I love everything about it. I just stayed faithful and consistent. That’s what opened doors for me but not everyone is the same.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: It’s my style. No way to really describe it. You’d have to hear it yourself 💯
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’ve worked with a lot of my favorite artists but I’d really love to work with Miley Cyrus. Haven’t gotten to work with her yet and I think we’d create ultimate magic.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: It just has to feel good. Make music for you. Not music you think that everyone wants to hear
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on all different genres as far as songwriting goes. There’s no limit to what sound I can do.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Songwriting as a whole. (Top line, melodies, lyrics, arrangement, vocal production, etc)
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: LIFE
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: TOP LINE MELODY, SONG MELODY, WRITE TO THOSE MELODIES, LAY DOWN VOCALS & THEN ADD HARMONIES
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I WORK FROM PLENTY OF STUDIOS! I LOVE STUDIOS WITH COOL LIGHTS & CRISP SOUNDS. AS LONG AS THE VIBE IS RIGHT, WHAT THE STUDIO LOOKS LIKE DOESN’T MATTER.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: James Fauntleroy, Rodney Jerkins, Lashawn Daniels, Timbaland, Neyo, Keri Hilson, Nija, Ant Clemons, etc.
