Guitarist and songwriter, writing songs about overcoming and winning. Offering electric and acoustic guitar, bass guitar and songwriting skills. I want to help your music say the things you can’t find the words for.
I’ve been a gigging guitarist for six years and writing songs for eight. Having worked in ensembles, rock bands and pit bands, I’ve learnt one thing over the years: say what you mean. I use that as a guitarist, songwriter and a session player.
This March, I released ‘Midnight Ballet’, a love story that never happened. At BBC Introducing Live in November, I got reviews of an acoustic version. I got these responses.
‘You know that film Juno? Sounds like it should be in that.’ - Danny De Reybekill. Freelance, former BBC Introducing host.
‘This sounds like it should be in a montage. It’s wicked!’ - Sam Loughlin. Music Gateway.
As a guitarist, the blues was my education. Hendrix, Clapton, John Mayer. Since then I’ve explored, rock, folk, disco, funk and synthwave. I don’t like to be kept in a box. If you just want a smoking solo, or some overdubs, then I’ll give you that. But I love building a sound. I’m happy to explore if you’re looking for a sound.
As a songwriter, I’ve become reflective over the years. Influenced by John Mayer, Jeff Buckley, Elbow and rap artists, songwriting is a way to say the things that I never could. If you want a sheet of decent lyrics, that’s cool. But why not go further? What kept you up last night? Let’s make it a song.
Guitar or words, I can do both. Get in touch.
