Professional Bass Player

Bringing you root notes from the alps, solid and tasty, Dominik is a trilingual professional session musician from offering a wide variety of electric-, synth- and upright bass playing, which made it possible for him to travel around internationally several times doing tours, theatre shows and recording sessions.

Gear:
-Basses: a wide variety of basses, including 5-string, 4-string, fretless, vintage, synth and upright is available. All can be strung with roundwounds for the wanted top-end/added punch or super old flatwounds for the realistic vintage sound.
-Studio Gear:
A professionally treated studio space is used for the recordings. All through Universal Audio Apollo gear and with a great selection of large diaphragm-, ribbon- and small diaphragm condenser mics.
-Studio Software & FX:
Pro Tools, Logic X, Ableton Live 9 and Cubase Pro 9.5 can be used for the recordings. All with a variety of plug-ins for further sound treatment and incl. lots of outboard FX for the extra creativity, if wanted.

I'm a professional Bass Player who lived and worked in London and Berlin. My main work included primarily studio sessions, live sessions, musical theatre and global touring for all kinds of artists.

Process:
My usual way of recording electric bass is playing a specific bass that fits your needs of your style through a Kemper Profiler. This allows me to dial in a specific tone that is needed for your record. I then go via stereo signal into my Universal Audio Apollo were I can tread the signal more if needed.
My usual way of recording upright bass is to use 3 simultaneous paths (DI/Close mic/ Far mic).
