  3. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  4. A: Strong laptop, audio interface, midi keyboard, & 2xMSP5's

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: Typical sound engineer home studio setup with the most important : professionnal speakers (MSP5, NS10's) for a precise monitoring with a performing audio interface (Audient).

  7. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  8. A: A slam poetry artist album composition & some mixing.

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: Digital because we now have powerful enough tools to achieve a great analog warm sounding with the most flexibility

  11. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  12. A: To fulfill their request with all means i have in my possession & never lie to them about what's do-able & what's not.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: To have a loud volume at mixing. My answer is that it's doable but related to the mastering process. The mix isn't about loudness.

  16. A: What are your specific needs? What would be a reference track or sound?

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: Try to contact the provider & try to see if your vision fits his way of working. Communicate before & during the work is done so that you can lead towards the direction you want.

  20. A: Do not over compress, & be careful about loudness race which isn't always the best option.

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: Hip-hop, Soul, Reggae, Pop, R'n'B, Dancehall & Soca, & video music scoring.

  24. A: Responsiveness & Understanding of the musician(s)' requests to fulfill with a professional workflow.

  26. A: I bring what the musician(s) ask me to bring in first place with my professional experience & i always suggest any different option that i could consider as a benefit to the music.

  28. A: Depending on the work which could be various. Communication in all cases to fulfill artists requests.

  30. A: Mixing & mastering Composition & beatmaking Editing & Arrangements

A: Romero Uno's album that i entirely composed, mixed & mastered. 4 Keus music video where i composed the music for the video (but not the beat) which is a short movie with over 2 million views on Youtube. Juldem mixing & mastering because i really appreciated his music & he was nominated to Swiss Music Awards.

  34. A: Encounters, music is a quest where we never stop going forward.

  35. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  36. A: That mastering could change a mix & make a good sound from a bad mix - it's completely not true.

  38. A: Over 15 years of professional activity : - Studio Apollo one, Paris (2004-2005) as a Sound Engineer - PHS Studios, Paris (2005-2010) as the Studios owner & Sound Engineer - Freelance since 2011
