Hi, I’m SOFIA — a Cypriot-born, Athens-based singer, songwriter, and vocal producer. I create emotionally honest, cinematic pop vocals and toplines that connect. Whether you need a lead vocal that brings your track to life, lush harmonies that make a chorus soar, or a hook that feels timeless, I help producers, artists, and writers translate musical ideas into unforgettable performances.
My sound blends warmth, depth, and modern polish, and my process focuses on clarity, emotion, and precision. I’ve recorded and written for producers and sync houses across Europe and North America, and my music has been featured on Netflix, Love Island, and the Oprah Winfrey Network, reaching audiences around the world.
Beyond my own releases, I’ve worked behind the scenes as a songwriter, session vocalist, and vocal arranger, supporting projects across pop, cinematic, soul, and electronic genres. Every collaboration matters to me — I bring both technical skill and emotional understanding to each track, making sure every note, phrasing choice, and harmony feels intentional.

check_circleVerifiedOnce again Sophia delivers perfect vocals for my song that totally transforms the song from something generic to a beautiful piece of music.
There are a lot of singers here on SB, and most of them get amazing reviews. But in my experience, that is not always correct.
In this case, there should be lots of top reviews.
Highly recommended.
check_circleVerifiedSophia is a pleasure to work with. Beautiful voice, she brought new dimensions to my song.
Interview with SOFIA (Sophia Patsalides)
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One project I’m especially proud of is writing the song that represented Cyprus in Junior Eurovision 2024. I co-wrote the song from the very first concept through to final lyrics and melodies, and seeing it go to #1 on Spotify’s Top 50 Viral Greece playlist was a huge confirmation that the emotional storytelling connected with listeners. Around the same time, I completed a custom album for BMG as both songwriter and vocalist, and several of those songs have already been synced to TV shows including Love Island (ITVX). Knowing that music I wrote in my home studio is now soundtracking moments around the world is something I’m deeply proud of. Live, two standout moments were performing as a vocalist at the Creative Women Forum in Saudi Arabia 2025, held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Noura bint Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and opening Anna Vissi’s performance at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. In all of these projects my role has been the same at its core: to bring emotional honesty, precision, and professionalism—whether I’m writing the song, singing it, or performing it on stage.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I’m new to the SoundBetter community, so I don’t personally know other providers here yet – but I’m always happy to suggest collaborators once I’ve worked with them and can vouch for their quality.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both have their magic. I mostly work in the box for flexibility and speed, but I approach vocals and songwriting with the care and intention you’d expect from an analog session.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To treat your song with the same care I give my own releases: professional quality, honest communication and on-time delivery, every time.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Most clients ask how many revisions they’ll get and how involved they can be. I always say: we’re a team – I include several revisions, keep communication open and work until the song feels right within the agreed scope.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That great vocals and lyrics “just happen.” In reality, it’s a mix of craft, editing and performance, not a single first take.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I always start by asking about your vision and references – what emotions you want the listener to feel, and 2–3 songs you love for vibe, vocal tone, and lyric style. I’ll ask who the song is for (artist/project, language, audience), what parts you need from me (topline, lyrics, full vocal recording, harmonies, ad-libs), and if there’s a story or key phrases you want included. On the practical side, I check tempo/key, deadline, budget, revision expectations and release/credit plans, so we’re completely aligned before I start.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Come with a clear goal and a few reference tracks, but stay open to ideas. The best results happen when we treat your project as a true collaboration, not just a transaction.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: MacBook Pro, SM7B, audio interface, a great pair of headphones and a MIDI keyboard.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been in music for around 15 years, starting as a performer, then studying Popular Music at Leeds Conservatoire (BA) and the Royal Northern College of Music (MMus). Over the last 5+ years I’ve worked professionally as a songwriter, session vocalist and artist, with releases and syncs on Netflix, Love Island and the Oprah Winfrey Network.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Conversational but polished – intimate enough to feel like I’m talking directly to the listener, and refined enough to sit next to today’s pop and sync records.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with Ariana Grande – she’s an incredible vocalist and vocal producer, and I’m fascinated by how her records balance musicality, precision and personality.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Let the vocal tell the story. Build the arrangement around the lyric and performance instead of stacking instruments for the sake of it – leave space, choose moments, and let contrast carry the emotion.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Modern pop and indie-pop with cinematic and soulful elements, plus Greek and bilingual projects for artists who want to blend international and Mediterranean influences.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: A strong sense of emotion, structure and detail – plus years of vocal training and two degrees in Popular Music. I make sure the lyric, topline and performance all feel like they belong to the same world and communicate exactly what you want your listener to feel.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: For writing, we’ll clarify your vision and references, then I draft melody and lyric ideas, refine the structure and send a clear demo for feedback. For vocals, I track multiple takes, build a tight comp, add doubles, harmonies and ad-libs, then clean, tune and deliver organised stems ready to drop into your session.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work from a treated home studio with a MacBook Pro, UAD Volt interface, Shure SM7B and Audio-Technica condenser, plus studio headphones, Logic Pro X and a Yamaha Clavinova for writing and arranging.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by writer-producers like Finneas, Greg Kurstin and Rick Allison – people who serve the song first and blend emotional storytelling with modern, cinematic sonics.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly help artists and producers with topline writing, lyrics and vocal recording – from writing the hook to cutting the final leads, harmonies and ad-libs, then comping and editing everything so it’s mix-ready.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Hearing a client say “this is exactly how I imagined it” – or better. Turning a voice note or rough idea into something they’re proud to release never gets old.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment I’m balancing client work with a few really exciting artist and sync projects. I recently co-wrote the song that represented Cyprus in Junior Eurovision 2024, which went to #1 on Spotify’s Top 50 Viral Greece playlist, and I’m now developing more songs in that lane. I also completed a custom album for BMG, with songs already synced to shows like Love Island on ITVX and other international series. As a vocalist, I’ve performed at the Creative Women Forum in Saudi Arabia 2025 under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Noura bint Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and I recently opened Anna Vissi’s performance at Cipriani Wall Street in New York—while continuing to write and record new toplines and custom songs for producers and artists worldwide.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Lyrics - Setting up a google doc, brainstorming themes, creating structure and crafting out lyrics. Melody - Work with a backing track, crafting different sections and dynamic development throughout the song.
