All the flutes you need

Niko COYEZ - Travelinmelody on SoundBetter

From reading the most difficult scores to improvising in absolutely any styles (from jazz to hip hop, classical, reggae, rock, latin, asian, ethnic) let's work together to make your song reach another level.

If you need a polished clear beautiful flute sound or distortions and effects (i use them a lot on stage or in studio), I can arrange, improvise or just play any of your composition, from soft and calm music to virtuoses songs.

I have a huge background in classical music (all my complete resume is available on my website ) but latin jazz, traditional musics, ethnic flutes from all around the world, funk, hip hop, electronic, folk, rock, are really what i love to play.
If it's played with heart, intention, passion.

I have been traveling around the world, lived in Asia, Latin America and Africa in order to learn traditional musics and be able to play them with heart and respect.

You can find a lot more to hear and see (I'm also a film maker) on my website http://travelinmelody.com.

I play music with heart and soul and i work hard until I'm satisfied with what I record.
Very interested for works related to :
-audiovisual soundtracks
-zen/relaxation music
-jazz
-latin music
-traditional asian (south east asia mostly)
-african music
-Hip-hop/beatmakers
-modern and progressive sounds

I can also record/play Lap Steel guitar (weissenborn) and compose music for film/videos.

I value over all music that is played from the heart.

Interview with Niko COYEZ - Travelinmelody

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I have started music when i was 11 and became professional at the age of 16. Since then i never stopped. I produced 3 albums, featured on many others and at 32 i left everything to travel only with my bag and my flute around the world. Since then i met and played with a lot of musicians around the world, I have learn humility and I pay respect to beautiful people more than to virtuosity.

  3. Q: How would you describe your style?

  4. A: Those questions aren't reflecting who we are. I don't think I have one style. I adapt to everything, I evolve and my style evolves with me. So my style is not to have only one style

  5. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  6. A: I used to dream of some famous artists to work with when i was more young, then after traveling i realized that i got blown away from some absolutely unknown artists in almost all the countries i visited. So well, my answer would be: I would love to work with everyone that have the same passion as i have for Art and music.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: I could share many, I'm always open to. That will of course depend on the feeling we have.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I have work with so many different styles that i couldn't name one only, but lately a lot of beatmakers call me and i also worked on some videos composing the soundtracks.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: The sound of my flute is the most important thing to me and i want it to be perfect. Technically i can really do whatever you want with my instrument.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: I can push your song further or just stick to what you initially want, that all depends on you. But if you let me free you might be surprised of what will come out, this is where i fit the most.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: I work very fast, especially if i like the song. It can be done in the day, i send a few tracks to choose between. Once it's validate i send it to my studio, we clean the sound and you get the full cleaned track the next day.

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: For the natural sounds of flute i work with a SM58, preamp + Native Komplete 2 and logic For the modern+effects sounds i use my flute cell microphone+Delay/Distortion/Chorus/Harmonizer pedals Once the track is validate by the client, i send it to my Professional Studio (12 Courage/Paris) where my sound ingenior clean the tracks and send it back to me in the same day. (this is why my tracks cost 125$, you won't be disappointed with the sound quality).

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: I am very inspired by traditional musics all around the world, how they gather people around. I love meditative sounds as much as heavy funky groovy modern beats but once again, i value the message and the ethic over all. I couldn't give you just one example for this question. It's too wide.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: I like to search for what is the intention behind the music and try to get as close as i can to it. Maybe you can compare this to an actor, except that i get into my role...in music
