Svirgo19 a rapper from Sheffield, has been rapping since he was 14, he first started out by rapping over instrumentals he would find on youtube and released his few first singles on SoundCloud between 2018 and 2020 under many different names. In 2020 he finally settled on Svirgo19 and has been releasing under that name. Since then he has grown from strength to strength and has harnessed his talent to captivate his audience with his lyrics, storytelling and mellow tone. In addition to this he released two back to back EPs (Strangers in the Night & 19) in 2021 as well as performing at MADE Festival in September 2021. His early influences were Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino. His music style is for fans of Tyler The Creator, Kota The Friend , Knucks , Sainte and Night Lovell.

I am a student of the British Institute of Modern Music (Bimm) in Birmingham UK.

Interview with Samuel Virgo

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: 19 was my most recent project. It was produced and written by me.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Currently an album

  5. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  6. A: Audio Interface, Laptop , a database full of billions of samples , a mic and a CD player for all my CD's

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I have been writing and releasing music since i was 14. I started properly releasing on sound cloud and YouTube when i was 16 and i started dropping songs in 2020 on all platforms. Currently working on my first debut album

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: I own a focus rite Scarlett Solo audio Interface. As well as a Ableton midi keyboard with the software. Also added a Rode NT2-A to the group

  11. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  12. A: My early influences were Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino.

  13. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  14. A: I will always do my best no matter what ill push at every moment. If there's something there i will find it.

  16. A: Everything

  17. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  18. A: The fact that my age means i cant write or have less experience then others.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: My advice is come with an idea and a beat. I will write my heart out for you

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: Chill and laid back but also strong with the delivery.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: I would love to work with Kendrick Lamar. He is one of my biggest inspirations his story telling skills and the way he raps and writes is pure magic. Just being in the same room as him for me personally would be cool. So to work with him it would be. Magical.

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: Rap, Hip-hop, Lo-fi hip-hop and chill-hop

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: Personally i will hear a beat and start writing or i will do it the other way round where i will have a song already written and start rapping over a beat and adjusting the structure as i go. It varies from song to song.

  29. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  30. A: I specialise in song writing within the Hip-Hop and Rap genre.

Terms Of Service

2 revisions after track is shared back but i am flexible project to project so it will vary.
I will keep you in the loop at all times to make sure you are happy with the song and if anything changes.
