Hi, I’m Mora — a multifaceted music producer, mixing & mastering engineer, and songwriter with years of experience helping artists turn their ideas into polished, industry-ready tracks.
I specialize in Afrobeats, Afrofusion, Hip-Hop, R&B, Trap, and Pop, but I’m not limited to one sound. My goal is to adapt to each artist’s vision and create a vibe that feels authentic, fresh, and competitive in today’s global music scene.

✍🏽 Songwriting & Arrangement – helping artists shape strong hooks, verses, and full songs that connect with listeners.

Interview with Yung mora

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: A recent project I’m really proud of is Lamba by Oluwanishola featuring Softy. The beat was produced by Kelvin Drayz, and I handled the vocal recording, mixing, and mastering. What I liked most about this project was shaping the vocals to sit perfectly in the mix while keeping the energy and bounce of the beat. The final version came out clean, powerful, and radio-ready, and the artists were really happy with the result.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment, I’m working on mixing and mastering a few Afrobeats and Afro-fusion tracks for independent artists, and I’m also developing some original productions of my own. I like keeping a balance between client projects and personal creative work, because it helps me stay sharp and versatile.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Yes, I do. I’d recommend an artist I work with called Lexx the Wolf. He’s talented, creative, and very professional, and I’ve enjoyed collaborating with him. If a client is looking for an artist with originality and strong delivery, he’s definitely someone I’d point them to.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I’d say digital, mainly because it gives me flexibility and speed. With digital tools I can work anywhere, recall sessions instantly, and try out endless creative ideas without limitation. That said, I do appreciate analog gear for the warmth and character it brings, but in my workflow, digital gives me the balance of quality, efficiency, and freedom to deliver professional results for clients.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise to my clients is to always respect their vision and deliver a song that sounds professional, polished, and true to them. I make sure the vocals shine, the mix is balanced, and the final product is release-ready. Above all, I promise clear communication and dedication until they’re fully satisfied with the result.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: What I like most about my job is being able to transform an idea into a finished song. There’s something powerful about taking raw vocals or a rough beat and shaping it into music that connects with people. I enjoy the creativity, but also the technical side of making everything sound clean and professional. The best part is seeing an artist happy when their vision comes to life.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: One of the most common questions I get is: ‘How long will it take to finish my song?’ My answer is that it depends on the project — a simple mix and master can be done in a couple of days, but full production might take longer. I always make sure to give a realistic timeline upfront so the client knows what to expect. Another common question is: ‘Can you make my song sound like [a specific artist or track]?’ and I tell them yes, I can use that as a reference for vibe and quality, but I’ll still make sure the final product sounds unique to them.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: I think the biggest misconception is that mixing and mastering is just about turning knobs or making a track louder. In reality, it’s a creative process that involves understanding the emotion of the music and making sure every element works together. It’s not just technical — it’s about bringing out the artist’s vision and making the song sound finished, balanced, and ready for the world.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: When I start with a new client, I usually ask a few key questions to understand their vision: What’s the goal of the song — radio, streaming, performance, or personal release? Do they have a reference track or artist whose sound they want me to keep in mind? What mood or emotion do they want the mix to highlight? And finally, how much creative freedom do they want me to take — do they want me to strictly follow their guide or bring in my own ideas? Those answers help me tailor the mix or production exactly to their needs.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: I’d say look for someone who listens to your vision first, not just someone with gear or technical skills. The right provider should be able to adapt to your style, communicate clearly, and make your song sound professional while keeping its original vibe. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for samples of their past work — it gives you a clear idea of what they can deliver and if their sound matches what you’re looking for.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: I’d take my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface, my Behringer Ms16 speaker monitors, my professional studio headphones, a reliable synth keyboard for creativity, and of course my laptop with my DAW. With those five, I could record, produce, mix, and master anywhere — even on a desert island.”

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started out with a passion for music, experimenting with beats and recording at home. Over time, I invested in building my studio setup and kept practicing mixing and mastering until I could deliver professional-quality results. I’ve been working on music seriously for a few years now, collaborating with different artists and growing my skills with each project. It’s been a journey of constant learning, and every step has helped me refine my sound and become more versatile.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: I’d describe my style as clean, dynamic, and versatile. I like to make sure every element in a song has space to breathe, while still keeping the energy that makes the track engaging. Whether it’s Afrobeats, hip-hop, R&B, or pop, my approach is to highlight the artist’s voice and emotion, then shape the production or mix around that to give the song a polished, professional finish.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I’d love to work with Burna Boy. He has a powerful way of blending Afrobeats with global sounds, and his music carries both energy and message. Working with him would push me creatively and allow me to bring my versatility in mixing, mastering, and production into a sound that already reaches worldwide audiences.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: One tip I always give is to focus on the vocals first. The vocals carry the emotion of the song, so if they’re not clear and sitting well in the mix, the whole track will feel off. Once the vocals are locked in, you can build everything else around them — that way the beat supports the artist, instead of fighting with them.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I usually work on Afrobeats and Afro-fusion, but I’m also versatile — I’ve mixed and mastered hip-hop, R&B, and pop tracks as well. I enjoy blending genres because it challenges me creatively and helps me bring a unique touch to every project. My goal is always to adapt to the artist’s style while still delivering a professional, polished sound.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is bringing balance and emotion into a mix. I have a good ear for making vocals sit perfectly with the instrumental, so the message of the song really connects. Whether I’m mixing, mastering, or producing, I focus on making the track sound polished, dynamic, and true to the artist’s vision.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring clarity, balance, and emotion to a song. My focus is always on making sure the vocals shine and connect with listeners, while the instruments support that energy without clashing. Whether I’m mixing, mastering, or producing from scratch, I aim to give every track a professional polish that still keeps its original vibe and authenticity. In short, I make a song sound finished, competitive, and true to the artist’s vision.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: When I start a project, I like to first understand the artist’s vision — what feeling or message they want the song to carry. If I’m producing, I begin by building the beat or instrumentation and shaping the overall vibe. For mixing, I usually start with the vocals, making sure they sit cleanly and emotionally in the track, then I balance the instruments around them. Once the mix feels solid, I move to mastering, where I polish the track, control dynamics, and make sure it’s ready to compete sonically on any platform. Throughout the process, I stay in touch with the artist to ensure the final result truly represents their sound.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My studio setup is designed for both accuracy and creativity. I run a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface into a pair of M-Audio BX5 D3 monitors, which give me a clear, powerful reference. For critical listening, I use the Focusrite HP60 MkIII professional headphones, which are part of the Scarlett range and deliver detailed monitoring. Alongside that, I have a compact mixer for routing flexibility and a synth keyboard for live input and sound design. This setup keeps things simple but professional, allowing me to deliver clean mixes, polished masters, and full productions.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: “I draw inspiration from a mix of international and African talents. On the global side, I really admire producers like Timbaland and Metro Boomin for their creativity and sound design, and mix engineers like Dave Pensado and Manny Marroquin for how clean and emotional their mixes sound. From the African scene, people like Sarz and Pheelz inspire me because of how they’ve pushed Afrobeats to a worldwide audience. Altogether, they influence me to stay versatile — whether I’m mixing, mastering, or handling full production.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I mainly mix and master songs for clients, and sometimes handle full music production
