I strongly recommend Martin for Producing, mixing and mastering sevices! This guy is doopee! Beyond being such a nice guy to work with, his experience and musical skills really made the diference. I also wanted him to remix and master 3 of my songs as I didn't like the result with the first engineer that mixed it before him. The difference is like night and day! You won't regret!

Interview with Martin Kano

  1. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  2. A: My macbook pro, my Audeze LCD-X, a hard drive with 10 TB of music, a midi controller and my Manley 16x2

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: Pop, Urban, Trap, Rap, Worship, Rock.

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: I have a strong sense of taste — both musically and creatively. If I weren’t a music producer, I’d probably run a restaurant. For me, producing and mixing is like cooking: it’s about selecting the right ingredients, finding the perfect balance, and creating a unique experience that leaves a lasting impression. Every song is a new recipe, and my job is to make it unforgettable.

  7. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  8. A: In my mixes, I focus on delivering depth, dimension, and a solid, polished sound that translates across all platforms. In my productions, I bring emotion, musicality, and the attention to detail needed to make your song sound like it belongs on the radio — and on top Spotify playlists.

  9. Q: What's your typical work process?

  10. A: Mixing Before I start mixing, I ask my clients what they’re aiming for and request 2–3 reference tracks. This helps me understand the sound and vibe they want. From there, I focus on bringing out the best in their song with clarity, depth, punch, and emotion — always respecting their vision. Production For music production projects, clients usually send me a vocal track (with or without instruments) and a couple of references to guide the direction. Together with my team, we create a custom demo that reflects both the artist’s vision and our creative input. The goal is to deliver a high-quality, release-ready song that stands out in today’s market.

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: My studio is made up of fundamental pieces that shape the audio of my productions and mixes, such as the Manley 16x2 tube console, WesAudio ngTUBEeq and SSL THe bus+. Then I have some pieces of hardware that I usually use according to the occasion, I also have a Universal Audio OCTO device with everything, absolutely all the plugins that are available.

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: Geoff Emerick, Sylvia Massy, Chris Lord-Alge, Michael Brauer, Tony Maserati. I was lucky enough to be able to work with them.

  15. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  16. A: The most common type of work I do is mixing and mastering music for artists, producers, and labels—both in Stereo and increasingly in Dolby Atmos. I typically receive multitrack sessions and work on enhancing the emotional impact, clarity, depth, and commercial quality of the song, always respecting the artist’s vision. Many of my clients come to me looking for a final product that competes on global platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube. My role goes beyond the technical side—I’m often involved in creative decisions, giving feedback on arrangements, vocal production, or overall sound design. With over 1500 songs mixed and experience in Grammy-winning albums, I’ve developed a workflow that balances speed, precision, and artistic sensitivity.

  17. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  18. A: The project that I was most proud, was the one I worked with Geoff Emerick, the engineer of The Beatles. It was on his first visit to Argentina where he came to give his masterclass, we recorded and mixed a song by Alejandro Lerner, which was previously produced by me and with Charly Garcia as a special guest. It was a dream come true. I've had the honor to be the only producer in South America in working with him, RIP.

  19. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  20. A: that im a headhunter like a Factor X

  21. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  22. A: I ask them what their goals are with the project.

  23. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  24. A: First of all to confirm that everything you read in the profile is true, second to listen their playlist and if it is within what you are looking for and finally to have a good vibe to achieve an excellent result.

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: I would like to working with artists who want to give their all and dream big.

  27. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  28. A: I have been in the music industry for 15 years, throughout these years I was able to work with recognized artists, but the achievements that I celebrate the most is working with independent artists who are beginning to grow.

  29. Q: How would you describe your style?

  30. A: My style is modern and organic, I really like to include technology in my productions as well as I like to mix it with organic instruments such as an acoustic guitar or bandoneon.

  31. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  32. A: Each song you compose, do it as if it were the last one and that it depended on the before and after of your career. Surrender everything and God will do the rest.

  33. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  34. A: Now I am producing a girl from United State named Samy who at only 13 years is about to release her first ALBUM and I am also producing an urban music an artist from Argentina who will make people talk, her name is N4hi.

  35. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  36. A: My promise is that when the song is finished we will have nothing to envy any mainstream artist.

  37. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  38. A: Hybrid. The right balance is powerful.

  39. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  40. A: I like to see that the client has been happy and proud of the final result. I also like it a lot when I see that the song begins to grow in streaming and has good acceptance in the public.
