Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am very proud of my latest concept EP release "Ideas that seemed like good ones at 3AM", because it is a new rendition of songs I have written when I was younger and that I wanted to bring back to life in a new style.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am writing, recording and producing a full-length album, internship at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance London, as well as having 5-8 orders of vocals and songwriting a week on average.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: David Theni, amazing producer and collaborator.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both of course, I don't think either or questions are fair to a creative person. We always want to use anything to create something cool.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I guarantee that they will get 100% of my effort.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I am passionate about music and I am incredibly grateful to be able to do this as a living.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask them to be as clear as possible about what is it that they are expecting from me, style, references...
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen to all the audios and make sure you know what to expect from the singer and make sure to give clear instructions.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, Headphones, Interface, Microphone, Guitar.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career path has always been music. I started playing piano and singing around the age of 6, had my first performance at 7 and at 17 I decided to start working as a vocalist and singer songwriter professionally, so I started working on my music and started studying in a conservatory.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is always changing, but at the moment, I would describe my style as a mix of some of my favourite artists like Ariana Grande, Melanie Martinez, Still Woozy, Alicia Keys, Rihana and more.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Still Woozy, I am a big fan it would be a dream collaboration.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: When recording and comping vocals, choose the take that has the best energy, the pitch is easier to correct than to change the power of the performance.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I have started my career working on a lot of Pop, Indie, Rock as well as EDM, House, Techno, and recently I have been very invested in Contemporary R&B, Soul and Punk.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my songwriting and vocal performance skills are equally great.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I am great at writing catchy melodies and capturing lyrics, as well as harmonising and arranging backing vocals.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When working for clients, I record a first rough draft of the song and send it over to make sure it's going in the right direction, once I get the approval I proceed with recording and writing. Once i have a final recording/recordings, the clients can ask for revisions which can be little things like: change the flow of that one phrase, add more backing vocals in this one particular part, change the flow of this one line in the verse or sing the last chorus louder. The revisions can't be recording the whole song from the beginning.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Microphone - Neumann 103 Interface - Komplete Audio 6 Macbook Pro - Logic Pro X and of course monitors, keyboards, guitars, because I also produce music.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My admiration for singers like Ariana Grande, Melanie Martinez, Beyonce, Alicia Keys is endless. There are so many artists that I look up to.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My most in demand service is writing lyrics+melody for a provided track and recording Lead, Double Tracking and Backing Vocals for it. I did that for producers, for companies trying to promote their products, for record labels and a pretty cool person once asked me to write a song as a gift for their friend :)
