Interview with Dante

  1. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  2. A: One of the biggest misconceptions is that writing a pop song is easy just because it sounds simple. In reality, it takes a lot of intention, precision, and emotional awareness to craft something that feels effortless, catchy, and true. Simplicity is often the result of depth—not the absence of it.

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: Before starting a project, I like to get a clear sense of your vision so I can bring it to life with precision and creativity. I’ll usually ask about the overall vibe or emotion you're aiming for, any reference tracks or artists you have in mind, and the purpose of the song—whether it's for a commercial release, sync placement, or personal use. I also like to know if you already have lyrics or a melody, or if you'd like me to start from scratch. Language is important too—let me know if you prefer English, Spanish, or a mix. We'll define what deliverables you need (like demo vocals, full production, or topline only), your deadline, and how you'd like to handle credits and revisions. Clear communication upfront makes the creative process smoother and more exciting for both of us.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Trust me—a stubborn Taurus knows how to aim for the stars, even when the rocket hasn’t been built yet.

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: My setup is simple: a solid computer, a good mic, my console, headphones—and my iPhone. That’s where I write lyrics, because it’s where I text, scroll through Instagram, and tap into my creativity, mood swings, bad jokes, and all the quirks that shape my songwriting voice.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember—I learned to whistle before I could walk, and I haven’t stopped creating melodies since. At 16, I began writing pop music professionally, honing my craft with intention and passion.

  11. Q: How would you describe your style?

  12. A: Soft vocals, refined lyricism, and experimental pop production—a blend of Ariana Grande’s vocal finesse, Justin Bieber’s rhythmic flow, and Britney Spears’ sensual edge.

  13. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  14. A: Max Martin, without a doubt. I was raised on his iconic hits—like “Oops!... I Did It Again” and “I Wanna Go” by Britney Spears, or “No Tears Left to Cry” and “God Is a Woman” by Ariana Grande. His catalog of over 20 chart-topping singles has deeply shaped my musical instincts and sense of pop structure.

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: Never dwell on past achievements—approach each new project as the true measure of your artistry. Your talent is only as relevant as your most recent creation.

  17. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  18. A: Pop is my bread and butter—I love crafting simple, catchy songs with a twist. I also enjoy challenging myself by breaking structure and surprising the listener with something fresh and unexpected.

  19. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  20. A: Creativity flows naturally for me—I rarely run out of ideas. Songwriting feels like parkour: I move freely, find unexpected paths, and always land somewhere new.

  21. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  22. A: My creativity lies in avoiding clichés and finding fresh angles on familiar themes. I love exploring unique phrasing and using unexpected words to make lyrics stand out—even to casual listeners.

  23. Q: What's your typical work process?

  24. A: I aim to translate emotions into sound—crafting melodies that feel like a sweetened inner monologue, where every note speaks what words can’t.

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  26. A: I work with a Personus console, an AKG condenser mic, JBL monitors, and AKG headphones—geared for clean vocal capture and precise mixing to deliver studio-quality results.

  27. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  28. A: I’m deeply inspired by the sonic worlds crafted by Ariana Grande with Max Martin and Ilya, as well as Selena Gomez’s team; Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels. I connect lyrically and emotionally with artists like JP Saxe and Bonnie McKee, and channel that same depth and pop sensibility into every project I take on.

  29. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  30. A: I write pop songs with a strong focus on hooks and fresh, catchy melodies. My strength lies in delivering dynamic vocal ideas that elevate the production and bring energy to the track.
