Recording, Mixing, and Mastering with passion and experience. My main focus is to bring your vision to life, the way you want to hear it.
I am a professional recording, mixing, and mastering engineer from Nashville, TN, but recently relocated to Leipzig, Germany to open my own studio. I work out of Off The Road Studios, as well as my home studio here in Leipzig. I'm very passionate about my local music scene, and don't miss any opportunities to support my favorite local bands or international touring acts.
I've been recording, mixing, and mastering for local and remote clients for over 6 years, and I am always learning more about my trade and constantly updating my skills. I have a bachelor's degree in Audio Recording and Production as well as 10 years of additional industry experience. I have interned at BlackBird Studios in Nashville and was an assistant engineer at KingSound Studios. I also spent a few years in Technical Support with Sweetwater Sound, helping customers fix issues their having in their own studios.
I have been awarded SOCA's Album of the year 2018 for an album that I Produced, Recorded, Mixed, and Mastered. I have worked for Marble Lounge Records to Engineer and Master an album produced by Rob Mathes (Panic! at the Disco, Sting), as well as hundreds of other clients that have trusted me to bring their passion projects to life.

I wanted to have someone who knows what they are doing master my upcoming album. I gave Jordan a try on one of my tracks, and can't wait to come back and have him do the full album.
It's not terribly difficult to find someone to master a song these days. What sets Jordan apart is the fact that he's great at what he does - the songs he's mastered for me SLAP...to the point where I have not looked for other mastering engineers to send my or my clients' work to for years.
Jordan turns songs around in the requested timeline every time, which is crucial in a fast-paced music environment. I've never once had to ask for a mastered file beyond an agreed delivery date.
As a final note, Jordan also happens to be a really fantastic person in general. Use him for your work.
Jordan isn't just a great engineer, but also an amazing musician and producer. His attention to detail is first-class. He can edit, tune, mix, write, play, produce, and master. Super laid back and easy to work with. Hire him for anything and everything!
Jordan made the whole experience easy and fun. Jordan recorded and mixed our band Slug Love and the end result was spectacular. It was great working with him to, as his advice and input on the songs made the whole process incredibly smooth. I have shared our album everywhere I can and love telling people who the engineer was. I could not recommend recording with Jordan enough. I will definitely be reaching out for future projects!
Stoffel did a fantastic job on our debut record. He is very technically advanced, but was also able to communicate his decisions in a way that made sense to our entire team. He has a super personality and had us all very enthusiastic and motivated about the record during the mastering process. He was kind enough to consult us about sharing part of the process on his social media, and we were delighted to support that. He’s a solid guy. We’ll be working with him again the future!
Jordan engineered and helped produce my band O’ Sister, Brother’s first full-length and he was great! He knew his stuff and worked with us to make something that we’re really proud of, and we’ve gotten great feedback on the mix as well.
We found StoffelRecordingCo online and we realized that he was in our area. We went to him to record and he was able to produce a lot of our song for us. He mixed and mastered it for us for a reasonable price and in a short amount of time. We're so stoked on how it turned out.
We're looking forward to making more music with him soon!
Interview with StoffelRecordingCo
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I'm a wizard who can make very poorly recorded things sound like it was made in a world- class studio. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot we can do these days, but only so much in some cases.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Who their influences are, favorite songs, noteable mixes that they love... etc. So I can get an idea of how they want to sound.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure you are very clear to me what you want, and how you'd like me to approach the mix.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My computer, my interface, my monitors, headphones, and API lunchbox.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: While I was in the Navy, I started recording as a hobby in 2010. I knew that this was what I wanted to do, and so when my contract was fullfilled in 2014, I went to college to learn the trade, and have been doing it since. A few studios in a few cities, and hundreds of songs later, I still love it.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I like to think that my style is rather transparent and I let the music shine through how it was intended.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I've always wanted to work with a band like Heilung. They have so many interesting and unique textures that it would be fun to capture.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Record it right the first time, so you don't have to fix it in post.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I love to work on a variety. My favorite music to record is definitely genres that use acoustic instruments, but my favorite to mix and master is certainly Metal.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I feel like Mastering is my strong suit, though I think mixing is a close second.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I'll bring my own feedback, if it is asked for and appropriate. I of course have opinions about how some things should sound, and would only apply that if it is asked for, or if there's a real problem. Otherwise, I want your song to be the exact representation of how you imagine it.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It's important for me to capture the sound of what we're recording in the best way possible. That way during mixing, I can focus on making everything sound great and natural together, instead of trying to "fix" issues. When working with mixes that I didn't record, I try to apply the same mentality, and will let you know if there's something that is "off" about any of the other tracks. Same goes for Mastering.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a dedicated mixing and mastering room at home that is treated acoustically, and used for recording other small things like guitars, bass, and some acoustic instruments. I have an Apollo interface and work with a mixture of digital plugins and analog compressors/EQ to bring some extra life and color (when needed) to my mastering chain and bus processing. Otherwise, for big projects and recording drums, I work out of a local studio called Off The Road Studios that has a big beautiful live room and an analog console.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm a big fan of the work of producers like Jens Bogren, Will Yip, Daniel Bergstrand, Fredrick Nordstrom, Jerry Finn, Andrew Scheps, and many others.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I work with many different bands and artists, mostly in the vein of Metal, Punk, Indy, Folk, and Singer/Songwriter. I have worked on many electronic based genres as well, and I love that I can work on a diverse range of music.
