Hello. We are KLAB Songwriting Team!
We are a songwriting team (Keilah & Audio) that record reference material/demos as well. We have a passion for delivering quality performances and developing great arrangements to tell the story of song. We record songs of all kinds including but not limited to R&B, Pop, Dance & Gospel. We are on the east coast, but travel and love to collaborate with other songwriters, musicians, producers & artists. Although we cannot post most of the music that we record, some can be found on www.MAGICONDABEAT.com (hooks including "Northern Lights", "Selfish w/Hook", "The One" & "No Breaks". Keilah has been featured on Blondie's "Ghost of Downloads" album and provided supporting vocals and arrangements throughout the album as well. Keilah is also an artist and you can hear her at www.KEILAHMUSIC.com. We also provide recording & mixing services as well. Feel free to connect with us at AUDIOBLACKE@GMAIL.COM or via telephone (323) 786-4515. We look forward to hearing from you.

Interview with KLAB Songwriting Team
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: There are two - one is Keilah being featured on a song with Blondie on the Ghost of Downloads album, while also arranging and providing background vocals on other tracks. We are currently working on Keilah's EP (through Universal Music Group) and a new artist signed to Universal called "Paradize" Album and we have the first two singles placed!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently we are working on various projects for Universal Music Group Spain & Warner Music Group as songwriters and Keilah as a featured artist.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Johann Elliot (aka Johann Bach) is an AMAZING producer and guitarist!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love music - PERIOD. So any work that we do from the business side to the studio recording is a lot of fun. I enjoy doing this full time. Its extremely rewarding to be able to make art daily - its more rewarding when we can bring a song to life in a way that the creator never thought possible.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I feel that a lot of people believe that as long as you have a good voice a song is great. I do not agree. The feeling, passion, lyrics and vocals have to work together in a good mix for the song to be great!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What do you want the listener to "see" when they hear this song?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Contact us and let us know what you are looking to deliver musically, the time frame you need the music done by and your budget. We can build everything from there.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Sia! She is an AMAZING vocalist and songwriter! I would love to see how we could add to her and what we could help bring out of her.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: One tip I have for Hip Hop producers - make sure your bass and kick sit well together. Sometimes producers will like how certain kicks & bass (including 808s, etc) sound together, but they don't sit well together in the mix.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: We usually work on Pop, Dance and R&B type songs.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Our strongest skills are songwriting and arranging. We LOVE to bring music to life.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: We bring the best delivery, including accurate pitch, passion and feeling behind the vocals and a great overall performance.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Our process depends on who we are working with and the time that we have to get things done. As writers we sometimes do a "top line" for a song and build from there. Other times we will write the song and bring everything together such as arrangements, ad-libs and brainstorm on how the effects and mix can support the feel of the song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We have a studio in Jersey City, NJ. Our recording booth is 10 by 7. We use Pro Tools for recording vocals, but also have other programs including Logic.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: We are inspired by SO many artists including Bryan Michael Cox, Lashawn Daniels, Quincy Jones, Prince, Kim Burrell, and the list goes on and on.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: We provide a recording facility for some clients. We are record reference/demo material for others as well. We take songs to the next level by supplying background vocals and vocal production.

We work with each project based on budget and needs. We are more than confident we can give you a quality recording in a short amount of time.
