I’m 31 years old music producer, remixer, sound designer from Budapest. I'm producing music for more than 15 years under the name of Chris Lawyer. Mainly I'm focused on electronic music, but occasionally I also edit vocals. I'm the founder of Naschkatze Underground.

Interview with Chris Lawyer

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started to produce music in 2006. Next year I found myself playing in the best clubs of Turkey and Balkans. From 2009 to 2011 I took a break. In the end of 2011 I started my solo project and released my first album which gained international support from the scene.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Chris Lake. He's a genius.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Get your kick right, it's the holy grail of EDM music.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Tech House, Melodic Techno.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start my project with the kick, clap and bass.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm working with Ableton Live 10 on a Mac mini. I have a Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 and a pair of M-Audio BX8. If I need to record samples or vocals I do it on my Rode NT1-A. My favourite VSTs are Sylenth, Massive, Serum and Kontakt Plugins. For mixing and mastering I use a bunch of plugins from Waves, IzoTope, Fabfilter, IK Multimedia, etc.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Illusionize, Dirtybird records and melodic techno tracks.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Music Production, Ghost Production, Sound Desing, Vocal Tuning and Editing, Mixing and Mastering.
