Interview with Jesus Chacon

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Kuzco Music Bolivia's growth has been phenomenal! We started from scratch and now boast a thriving community of almost a million followers. As their in-house producer, I've played a key role in crafting their signature sound. From beat creation to mixing and mastering, I work closely with the artists to develop a unique sonic identity that resonates with their audience.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Working with talented artists is incredibly rewarding! My friend, a hugely popular figure in Bolivia with almost 800,000 followers on Facebook (check him out here: https://www.facebook.com/KuzcoMusicBoliva), and I have a fantastic project together. As his producer, I collaborate closely with him to bring his musical vision to life. It's been amazing to see the positive response from his audience!

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I don't know anyone here yet.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Versatility and Control: Digital tools offer a vast array of sounds, instruments, and effects that are simply not possible with analog equipment. This allows for a much wider sonic palette and the ability to create unique soundscapes that were previously unimaginable. Precision and Editing: Digital recording allows for a level of precision and control that is unmatched by analog. You can easily edit, manipulate, and tweak individual notes or sections of a song without affecting the rest. This can be incredibly helpful for achieving a polished and professional sound. Accessibility and Cost: Digital recording equipment is generally more affordable and accessible than analog equipment. This makes it easier for aspiring producers and musicians to get started and create high-quality music without a massive upfront investment. Durability and Archiving: Digital recordings can be easily copied, backed up, and stored without any loss of quality. This ensures the longevity of your music and makes it easier to share and distribute. While analog recording can offer a certain warmth and character, it also comes with limitations in terms of fidelity, editing capabilities, and long-term preservation. Digital technology allows for a more flexible, efficient, and creative approach to music production, making it a powerful tool for realizing your musical vision.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise to not just produce music, but to ignite your creative spark. I'll challenge you to explore new sonic landscapes and push your creative boundaries. We'll work together to create music that is not only polished and professional but also unique and captivating. Get ready to unleash the full potential of your music!

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The Creative Spark: Being part of the creative process from start to finish, collaborating with artists to transform raw ideas into polished songs, can be incredibly rewarding. Staying up-to-date with new technologies, exploring different genres, and pushing creative boundaries can be a stimulating and challenging process that leads to personal and professional growth. The Emotional Connection: Music has the power to evoke emotions and connect with people on a deep level. Knowing that your work has touched someone, made them feel something, or even inspired them in some way can be incredibly gratifying. The Collaboration and Teamwork: The best music often results from strong collaboration between artists, producers, and other music professionals. Working alongside talented individuals, bouncing ideas off each other, and achieving a shared creative vision can be a truly enjoyable experience. The Final Product: The culmination of all the hard work and creative energy - holding a finished song in your hands, knowing you played a part in its creation - can be a moment of immense pride and satisfaction.
