Looking for a writer or producer for your next hit song? You’re in the right place. As a multi-genre Hip-Hop Songwriter & Producer I can write a full rap song for you from scratch based on your concepts. If you need production I can build around your already laid vocal & beat ideas or create something brand new for you from scratch. Let's work!

Who I Am:
Music is my passion. I've honed my writing and producing chops over the past decade while releasing multiple projects, including LPs and EPs all written and produced by me, and I have multiple songs and instrumentals signed to various sync licensing agencies libraries. I have also written and produced for various indie artists, and I'd like to do the same for you.

What I Offer:
Songwriting /Ghostwriting:
I have tons of experience writing and producing Hip-Hop songs. I can do R&B as well.
I can write a complete rap song from scratch for you based on your song concepts, vibe, etc.
Just need a rap or singing hook or background vocals? I can provide that for you also.
I can also provide a featured Rap verse for your song.

Production & Beat Making:
I create beats from scratch as compositions as well as sampling. All I need is your idea and/or reference and with my extensive database of sounds, I can help you go in the direction that you’re headed musically.
Have a song that’s already completed but you want to remix it with a new beat? I can build a track around your already laid vocals and create a whole new vibe
I also have tons of beats in my catalog for you to choose from!

Terms:

Reese's level of performance and communication went way beyond my expectations. He absolutely nailed the rap on the track and the quality of the stems were perfect. He's got a great intuition for what works and puts a lot of heart into his lyricism. Would happily work with him again.

Interview with Reese

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: At the moment, no as I'm new to the community, but it's great to have a community where artists, producers, engineers, and people who love music in general that want to be part of the industry can connect and be creative in a positive way.

  3. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  4. A: I get asked a lot what I would need to get their project done, whether it be writing a song, composing a beat, or mixing a song. My answer is always the same. I appreciate it when a client can clearly and concisely share their vision for the project with me and what their expectations are. My goal is to always assist in the creative process and help a client see their creative goal to fruition.

  5. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  6. A: I don't think there are any, honestly. I'm a rapper, producer, songwriter, and singer. A creative that loves what he does. I'd say that's fairly straightforward.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: Each job varies, but it all comes down to what are your expectations for the specific job at hand and how can I assist you with accomplishing that creative goal.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: My full recording and producing setup. Then I would somehow finagle a solar-powered system to power it all!

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: Sampha. His music connects with me in a way that most music doesn't. I'm fond of artists who do multiple things and try not to keep themselves in a box. Beatmaker slash producer slash singer slash rapper slash whatever else. All the slashes are important, haha. I'd also love to work with Drake, him being one of the greatest artists of this generation Nas, the ultimate lyricist, and Pharrell Williams, One of my favorite producers, who also does it all.

  13. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  14. A: Other than writing and producing for other artists, I'm working on more songs, mostly singles, and continuing to secure sync licensing deals for my music.

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: I've been creating music for as long as I can remember. I'm just as passionate about it now as when I first started. Professionally, I have been a songwriter, beatmaker, and engineer for over a decade.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: Originality, catchy/creative flows, and a cool cadence. That's a baseline of what I bring to the table and where my mind is when creating a song. Depending on a client's needs, I can accommodate and I'm very open to various styles.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: On the artist side, I'm Inspired by Drake, Sampha, Childish Gambino, The Weeknd, Kings of Convenience, etc. The list is long. Hip-Hop is my genre of choice in terms of creating but I love and get inspired by just about all genres. Although dead, Grunge is still one o my all-time favorite genres. On the production side, Pharell, Noah 40 Shebib, Hit Boy, Sampha, Illangelo, Alchemist and many more.

  21. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  22. A: I'm especially proud of the last EP I released. As with all of my projects, I wrote, produced, recorded, and mixed the entire project. Although it was my shortest project, It was, I'd say, my most personal project to date, and the lead single so far has over 20k listens on Spotify.

  23. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  24. A: There's a space for both and blending the two always leads to something special.

  25. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  26. A: Top-notch and top-quality work. My craft is important to me, as is my word. I'm passionate about my craft, so I'll always give 100 percent to tackle any project.

  27. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  28. A: Being a be able to have the space to pursue my passion every day.

  29. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  30. A: Be clear and concise about what it is that you're looking for and what you need accomplished. Communication is key in every aspect of life.

  31. Q: How would you describe your style?

  32. A: Effortless and cool.

  33. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  34. A: Don't get too caught up in the process. if you let it flow, typically you'll get your best results.

  35. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  36. A: Hip-Hop and R&B. I enjoy all types of music though, so I'm always open to working with any genre, especially when it comes to mixing.

  37. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  38. A: I'm adept at everything I do, whether I be songwriting, producing, or mixing, though, my favorite would be a toss up between creating a song or the making of the beat

  39. Q: What's your typical work process?

  40. A: For songwriting, I always start with a beat. Usually, it's a skeleton version of what it will be, sometimes maybe just a loop of a melody and I build my flow, harmonies and cadence from there. For beat making, I usually start out with a melody or a loop. If I have an idea in my head I'll play it out on my keyboard and build from there. Either leave it as a piano melody or using one of my many vsts, synths for different sounds

  41. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  42. A: I work on an iMac with a Motu M4 interface, Rokit 8 monitors, and a Sony C100 microphone. I use a Nektar Impact LX 88+ for beat making in collaboration with Fl Studio (and tons of modern and popular vsts). I use Pro Tools for all my recording, mixing, and mastering needs.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Ghostwriting rap vocals (full songs, hooks, choruses), beat production and mixing songs.
