We are a small, well equipped hybrid studio in North Portland designed to help every artist in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We have experience with multiple genres to include rock, Americana, reggae, country, and jazz.
Singer/Songwriter? Full band? Need overdubs or a voice over? Our 24 channel Trident 68 console is the heart of our hybrid system. Although we at Purple Door Sound love mixing and recording to and from Pro Tools with nothing but analog gear, we have the most up to date plug ins and software to create those unique sounds.
Do you record at home? Bring your tracks and and we’ll mix them for you.Audio Editing and Repair. We have a full suite of software to fix audio.
Purple Door Sound has a great mic locker, with a broad selection of cardioid, ribbon, and small and large diaphragm condenser mic’s. We also love the musicality of the EQ on board the Trident 68 console. In addition to the outboard gear, we also have a very large selection of plug-ins for in the box editing and effects.
Monitoring is from a pristine sounding Lynx Aurora converter, through the Trident 68 and a Grace Designs M905A. For speakers we have an amazing pair of Neuman monitors with sub, and a pair of Mixcubes to ensure our mixes translate to any listening source.
