Interview with Jeffro

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: Take breaks. Spending too long on a mix your ears stop working correctly and you start doing too much because your own head is being drowned by the same constant sounds . Keep it simple and always work in shorter periods to stay refreshed

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: Hip hop mostly, but I’ve done country singers, rnb, pop, and some rock

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: My strongest skill is perception. When I mix a song I try to step into the artists mind and see what direction they are taking in their music and I try my best to full embrace their imagination. Most people who work with me will tell me I did exactly what they were thinking they wanted it in their head. I add the little details in my mix that you may have imagined like sound FX, certain echoes and reverb etc.

  7. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  8. A: I bring life to a song. 1 thing I am good at is turning that amazing song that you have into a hit. There’s very good engineers that can make your song sound great and clean, but taking the right dynamic is crucial to your song and the vibe you want to get from it.

  9. Q: What's your typical work process?

  10. A: Organization is a big thing for me so I start with a preset template with color codes, plugins, compressors and EQs I mainly use for everything, then I begin to mess with compression and EQ accustom to the song, then I start plugins and so on.

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: Very simple and not too fancy, 1 monitor, 1 tower, and a keyboard and mouse. I run protools 2023. All plug-ins no mix boards or anything.

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: I was inspired by my mentor YT (young trigguh) he taught me how to engineer with a laptop and a $350 interface, headphones and mic bundle. He made the cheapest equipment sound better than studio quality. He taught everything he taught himself. Big inspiration from a true musical genius who paved his own way

  15. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  16. A: Mixing/Mastering music. I can also do any other audio engineering you need like recording and cleaning podcast vocals, radio commercials, Etc.
