Marin Rylee

Songwriter, Music Producer

Marin Rylee on SoundBetter

I love stories! Music should move you, get you off your feet, or make you feel something deep in your soul. Hard hitting pop music to emotional ballads I believe in making music with a purpose.

The age of leaving the hard work to the men is over. I write, produce, edit visual content and manage social media accounts as well as websites. I create a wide variety of music focused mainly in the pop and singer songwriter genres. The latest music video I edited hit 58,000 views on Youtube.

I'm young, but driven. I work hard, I'm passionate about music and I love creating!

Interview with Marin Rylee

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My second single, "If You Touch Him" was the first song that I was the sole writer and producer on. To see the reaction of my fans was overwhelming. I'm so thankful!

  3. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  4. A: I've been around music my entire life. Both my parents are singers and I grew up dancing. After Ed Sheeran's Grammy performance where he used loops to create his song on stage, my parents got me Ableton Live. I've been writing and producing ever since.

  5. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  6. A: James Bay because you can feel his heart in every word he sings. His songs just hit you deep in your soul and make you want to sing along, or burst into tears.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Don't get stuck on loops. Loops are great for a quick and easy production, but that's boring. The audience loses interest if the song doesn't go anywhere. If you're using the same drum pattern the entire song, it's repetitive. Change it up! Do something similar but slightly different. Play around!

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: Pop Music.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: I create stories. Whether it's a song, the production or visuals, I want to take the audience on a journey.

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: Michael Jackson, James Bay, Taylor Swift

  15. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  16. A: Songwriting, Music Production, Video Editing
